So I clicked the G37 forums button and wound up here in the land of G35s. What's with that?

I liked the car. I sold my G35 coupe and upgraded to the G37S so no offense intended.

Was this a case of somebody just not thinking?

Never mind, I'll just go quietly.

Look around the forum a bit...We've combined the G35 and the G37. They are, basically, the same car. If you have specific questions, check out the new engine, FI, Interior/Exterior, Suspension, and modification database forums that are dedicated to the G-series.

The forum has combined the 35s and the 37s. Many of the questions asked pertain to both cars. Now answers will come from a greater user base. The answers to many questions are typical to both cars. You'll also find that the activity on the forum is enhanced by the merger.

The G37 forum was not getting the attention it needed and questions were not being answered in a timely fashion. Mostly due to G37 mods coming and going. This new forum set up will be great for all 37 and 35 owners.

So stick around... so I can tell you I told ya so!

Why go? There are more people available to answer your questions.

It's not like the G37 is a totally different car, just a new generation of the G35. It's not like G37 was merged with Sentra.

Trust me, you will enjoy the change.

So what is so different ? Maybe if you tell us we will understand better. Interior?- tire? brake? Yes there is planty of different parts in the g37 but planty of the same.

It seems to me it is more of a brain different. Sorry to say that. Not poking just try to open eyes.

I guess they already forgot when they had problem at the start, with the navi or some other thing what we share they the 07+ sedans. People from the g35 forum helped.

If you're going to radically mix it up, at least fix all the links before you take it live. Spend the time and re-direct the URLs so that it's a less aggravating experience for the members. Instead, it was like BAM... navigate to a bookmarked link and you end up with "forum disabled" or other cryptic message. You should have done the work to re-direct the previous forum URLS and maybe you'd be getting less kickback. Just look at this thread. So far the only people raving about how "Great" the merged format is are moderators. Go figure.

I liked a dedicated forum for the new generation G, not because I have anything against the G35 coupe and sedan, the G37 is a unique car, and when you had an active moderator, it was a pretty active board leading up to the release of the car and afterwards. Then you annointed the last mod you had on there that contributed nothing, knew less and paid nearly zero attention to it. I don't think the problem was a separate forum as much as you guys didn't do a good job recruiting moderators. And for the guy that says the 35 and 37 are the same car.... I'll give you they're cut from the same underlying DNA, but there's plenty different with them.
I know of at least 5 mods spending many hours here trying to get this all back to an organized format. We're working on it as fast as time allows. We do this for nada because we like making it a pleasant place for everyone to come and share their experiences and learn from others. The little problems (links, etc) are being addressed by those with the ability to fix them. Things will smooth out in a few days.

Why not give it a chance and see if it works for you. If you have a G37 specific question, put "G37" in the thread title. If you have a general question, why worry if a G35 owner answers it. As far as I'm concerned, the more people at the party, the better the party.

I was surprised that the change happened so quick. I'm kinda proud of nico. Most places talk about change....And thats pretty much it. They announced a change was needed and implemented a solution pretty quickly .

Working on the broken links....takes time.

The G37 mod problem is part of why we merged the forums sooner, rather than later. This is the new layout that all of NICO will have to make looking for info logical and quicker.

The difference between the the 35 and 37 are minimal...new 07 sedan interior and a little more displacement in the engine. You now have a larger member base to have your questions answered which will help everyone.

Wow... you're really against it?? Not even sure why?? as far as the links... it's all being worked on.

The G37 forum had like 8 posts a day and was basically dead. Here, it's a bigger party, with a TONNE of knowledge and some of the coolest down to earth guys anyone could hope to have the pleasure of knowing.

As far as the past G37 mods go, the first one basically fell off the face of the earth (not our fault)the second one well....

Broken links....Hard to change links to the new location and have them still working prior to migrating to the new format. We can't replicate threads so it's a moot point. The options were to either have two completely seperate forums or join the community together and grow from there. The later was chosen.

We will give this time to iron out. If deemed necessary at a later date I can always add seperate generation-specific forums in here. As it stands that is something we are looking into from a growth perspective. Let's get the traffic rolling and I will gladly grow the forum.

To be honest for us g35 owners little more freedom to post whatever we want. G37 owners more response and more help. It is a win win situation in my book.

And that's part of the point. As the "series" of a car grows, we need to grow with it. Some vehicles change their names as they are grown from model to model (G35/37, 240/270/280/300/350Z) whereas others do not (Maxima, Sentra, 240sx, etc). In the case of the G37 we went ahead and created a whole new forum for it as we did with the 350Z. While this is not necessarily a bad thing at all, it does make it harder to manage and it fragments the community while also adding more and more forum links to deal with on the NICO main page.

I knew some would love and some would hate whatever we do. I've been doing the NICO designs since the end of '05 and any time there is a change to the forum layout or colors we get someone pissy about it. It happens and I've dealt with it each time while some like Beaner and the other G mods are seeing what happens when you change something for the first time

So, let's get this G-series forum moving. when the time comes to create gen-specific forums in here I will do so willingly as that is exactly what I hope to see.

I would say this was the best thing at the time because the traffic in the G37 forum wasn't going anywhere and I could take blame for it as well. Basically this is the best thing at the moment to keep traffic going and not let anyone no get unanswered.

I have to be honest. I miss the G37 forum. Maybe it's only me but I don't like the new forum format. I gave it a chance but I have just really stopped bothering with it.

When it was a separate G37 forum with all the topics together I read everyone and found them all interesting. I would visit a few times a day to see what was going on and it was always of interest to me. I posted a few answers and created a few threads.

Now yes there are a lot more postings but most of them have no interest to me. I don't have the time to read through lots of posting to try to find something related to me or my G37. I miss reading the postings of the people I was familar with such as Magellan. I haven't posted a single answer or thread since then.

Bring back a separate G37 forum!

It's 90% of the same car...should we also have separate forums for the G35 sedan and G35 coupe? Maybe separate forums for the different model years 03-04, 05-07 because of the revup engine change?...

That would not be a good idea.

Having 1 general chat forum for all G cars brings everyone to one common meeting place. If you have specific issues with your G37, post up in the appropriate sub-forum.

I understand you're reluctance to accept the new forum, there are a lot more G35s on the road than G37s and hence they will be the majority of posters. But, eventually that will even out...then the G50 guys will be complaining.

Have you noticed that not one of the postings telling anyone who disagrees with the end of the G37 forum that they are full of it is from a person who has a G37? I think there are really two different issues going on here. (1) the New Forum Format (that is great) and (2) the Loss of the G37 Forum (That sucks.)

Of course the G35 people don't care and like the new forum. The loss of the G37 forum means nothing to them.

Neither forum was lost. They were combined, since you guys had an average of 2 new topics each day, and an average of 12 posts a day. The forum was dead. It's too bad you don't like the new forum layout. It is for the benefit of all.

I am guessing that you feel that the G37 forum was thrown out, and it's all G35 now. There is a reason that the majority of the posts are G35 related. Most of the cars sold to date are G35's. The G37 has been out for 9 months now. The G35 was sold for 5 model years. What do you expect?

I also notice that any thread pertaining to the G37 is answered right away, with a valid answer, unlike the G37 forum which I had seen threads sit with 1 post for a day or two.
