...your mechanic is so dumb he forgets to put on the shims on the front brake pads?Just noticed that the place I took the pathy didn't put them back on. Went back and they have thrown them away.Manual says to replace them every time you replace your pads anyway, but do they have a real function (safety?)?Thanks for any info!

If what you mean are the thin shield type things that clip over the backs of the brake pads (not the other spring type smaller clips that I believe just keep the pads from clicking back and forth) you are probably fine if the new pads don't require them..I just put new pads on my rig and they have that built into the design on the back side so no need for them...I put the wagner power/quiet stops on...so far so good.

Thanks Peter!Yep, those are the shims (according to the workshop manual) and I put Axxis pads in, so probably not needed! Just wanted to make sure (better safe than sorry!)Cheers again.BTW, I put drilled and slotted disks in as well, when I've got a moment I'll post up some before and after pics.
