If you have a 3.5 you are supposed to use 92 octane I beleive.I have a 2.5 and use 87 octane, I think that 89 is a waste of money for the 2.5, unless you live in a high altitude location, it's really not necessaryelderboy02 wrote:Do you use 87, 89, or 92. I have been using 89.

Apparently, reading the owner's manual is optional.SHIFT_COUPE wrote:I don't have enough fingers or toes to count how many times we have had a thread for this.

Daan, you have a 3.5, right? At 275 HP, it IS a high-performance engine. Nissan does not (last time I checked) own any fuel companies and they recommend 91 octane. Not only does the higher octane fuel give the engine its best performance but it also keeps the engine cleaner of deposits. In the long term, 91 will maintain proper engine performance and reduce potential, and costly, repair bills as the car ages.DAAN. wrote:Sticky this up
87 / we love our altimas, but this is not a high performance car, so you can live with 87
