Recenly I have switched to 89, and my versa has been giving me some good power, at 87, it seems slow. I was wondering putting 92. What the differnece with all these grades, would something happen if I put 92 or 89 in my car. The manual said, dont put anything less then 87, it doesnt really say higher either.

What kinda of OIL and OIL FILTER would be the best, I am thinking about changing my own oil. What kinda of anifreez is good for the versa, trying to be pepraed for the winter. THANKS

higher octane is a waste of money, in the long run. unless u have a high compression engine, which these are not.if you disconnected your knock sensor, then you MUST use high octane to prevent 'knock'. i must admit, i use mid-grade. i'll switch from regular to mid grade. higher octane burns more evenly, preventing 'hot spots' in the combustion chamber, leading to pre-ignition and possible engine damage.

i'd stick with the oem filter, fram is a paper element, garbage.

read the manual for oil viscosity, i believe it calls for 5w30.

antifreeze, make sure it's aluminum compatible, most are nowadays.

You can put 89 or higher octane in your tank will no ill effects but as led hed stated, it's a waste of money. The only power increase you'll have in the Versa is imaginery.

There's an STP filter I use. I've used Mobil 1 synthetic for about 20 years or so in all my vehicles and have always been satisfied.

I actually got worse fuel economy with 91 Octane

I use Fram Filters no issues to be had and they are cheap.
