I know the pcv valve is suppose to be screwed into a "seperator "but does it really keep oil out the intake manifold like a catch can, or is it nothing like a catch can. I'm thinking of having local nissan dealership replace pcv valve for me, because I just purchased my s14 from a private owner. So I dunno when the last time it was changed.

So I know the pcv to the manifold is suppse to have its own seperator, but what about the hose from the intake tube to the pcv vent on the valve cover, could it benefit from a catch can.

Basically what Im asking is would it be a waste of time fixing a can for the manifold, if the seperator already functions as a catch can for it. So there fore only the intake tube will benifit from having a can hooked up.

Which one are you talking about... the catch can or the factory oil seperator? You might have just taken away my headache. I've been so freaked about keeping my motor as efficient and clean as possible, driving me insane. I was thinkin about gettin an engine flush sometime or another too. Do you know how often that should be done? I just wonder how much it cost lol?

Thanks for replying
