Why?Whats the difference in these vs. say, tein. Besides spring rates and shocks. Could you cut off the perch of your KYB's and "weld" these on to make a coilover/shock system. I know this sounds ghey and all but it's just a thought. I'm not gonna act on it.

its basically the quailty, plain as that, my friend bought something like that for his VW and after many attempts to talk him out of it, he got them. The day they arrived I near laughed my *** off. The sleeves are paper thin, cheap metal, its almost disgusting and I would never feel safe at all riding on thoses. Unfortunately you can not cut corners on cars, especially when it comes to supsension.

Agreed.

Buy Megan coils or a nice spring/strut combo if you don't have a lot of money to spend on suspension. If you do, buy some nice coils that will last you (KTS or Stance are the best bang for the buck).

*sigh*

to the OP.. no its not worth welding the sleeveover perch to the strut..think about it..if that weld gives while your driving 70 mph on the freeway and hit a bump..... you'll be lucky to be in a hospital..

oh no, I wouldn't ever buy those. I was just looking throught the endless pages of parts on ebay for 240's. I saw those on every page of parts. Just got me thinking about the main difference between a coilover "system" and these "securly" fastened to some struts w/ the perches gone. What if, and this is hypathetical, say tein made a set like the ones I posted. They would probably be good. They could sell them for the "greenback-inclinned".

Well obviously you wouldn't toally remove the perch. just leave enough on the strut for the sleeve to rest on.
