Im in the market for some gauges. I will be getting three. One will definitely be boost. I just cant decide what else is important to know like temp, exhaust gas temp (whats egt for), fuel press. etc. I plan on getting Greddy 52mm Electric Gauges. Also if anyone has any inputs on gauges feel free to post them.

Oil pressure and water temp. If your messing with the fuel pressure, get a fuel pressure gauge too. If you do a lot of track events, an egt is nice too...it's always good to know how hot things are getting. Air/fuel would be one of the last guages I'd get.

Samco makes some nice radiator hoses for the SR which has a built in opening for a temp sensor.

Sorry for the double post. BTW they are Blitz, not Samco.

oil pressure, oil pressure. oil pressure. Just get three of those.

I wouldn't get a water temp gauge, you can get a pretty good idea from the one in your gauge cluster.

I have Greddy gauges (60mm electronic silver with warning and memory) They are nice but expensive. I kinda wish I had just gone with Autometer cause I need an oil pressure gauge and can't afford it. =(

If you are buying three i'd go with

water tempoil pressureboost

Also I wouldn't go with the blitz hose, it simplifies things but for the price is not worth it IMO. There are lots of places on the block for a water temp sensor.

To fill my 3 space gauge pod, I picked EGT, boost and oil pressure. All of them are 60mm VDO.

where does the oil pressure sensor read at? How do you read EGT? I mean, what is good and what is bad. Same with all the other gauges. Thanks for answering my stupid questions guys.

Oil pressure sender can go in place of the stock one. (Right next to the oil filter).

The oil pressure has a remote sending unit, that I mounted near the stock oil filter. I'm not quite sure what you mean about "How do you read EGT?" It's a gauge, you look at it.

If you want to know what EGT's are normal for your application, that depends on where you mount the sensor. Lots of people around here seem to like mounting them on the manifold. I mounted mine in the turbo downpipe. When it comes to EGT, you want to figure out what they are "stock". That way when you start increasing the boost, you want to make sure that you have enough fuel to keep the EGTs where they were stock.

You really don't need an oil pressure gauge, because it is not very useful. If your engine is running properly, you will have good oil pressure. I got one simply because I had a pod for 3 gauges, and needed another gauge.

soo the hotter the egt the leaner the engine is running right? that sounds pretty important.

In a nut shell, yes. A proper fuel mixture keeps the engine cool.

Remember that timing also has to do with hotter egts as well.

vdo gauges at egauges.comoil pressure is important in case of problems(like oil return hose coming off turbo or something). it may save your motor.water temp is important because the stock gauge SUCKS. it is damped to keep it near center.oil temp is nice.boost/vac is required.egt is ok but wideband o2 is better. egt helps you guess at what the wideband will just tell you straight up.fuel pressure is good. id get oil temp first.air/fuel ratio is useless if you are using a regular over the counter o2 sensor.
