I am currently purchasing the last parts for my system and I don't know what amperage to get for my fuse/breaker. The amp will push 1200 watts rms for the two fronts and sub at 13.8 Volts. I don't know the voltage of the Versa so that would be nice to know as well.

Also another question. I am planning to run connect a switch to the speaker wire that goes from the HU and connecting both the HU and amp. The amp will be mounted on the sub box with the cap and all the wires will be secured with thumb screws. The sub box will be connected to the trunk with some quick detach latches. The idea is that if I need to I can have the sub/amp out of the car in a minute and then run my fronts off of the HU at the flick of a switch.

Will a switch like this work?

Thats not the right switch. You need one basically that has 6 prongs. So either the 2 top ones, or 2 bottom ones are being used. Lets say the 2 top ones are input from head unit, 2 bottoms are input from the amp, 2 middle ones are teh output to the speaker. Basically a DPDT set up. You will need one switch per speaker if you want to keep fade/balance.

Amperage going through the switch will not be an issue since the signal going to the speakers is AC and has a very low amperage rate.

I was going to use one switch for each speaker. Why do I need to connect my amp to the switch? I figured once I unhooked it and took it from the car it wouldn't matter if the speaker was still attached to the cable.

It would be a lot safer. Last thing you want is for somebody to hit the switch and it sends your amp signal back into your headunit.
