From what i have read, the most popular route is custom FMIC or the hybrid kit. Anyone else using anything besides these? did you have problems mounting it?

I don't think you can buy any IC kit when you do the RB to S13/S14 swap.

Best bet is to get the core (bar and plate) and get custom piping. AFAIK.

i'm running the hybrid powerdigger and custom piping.

i think Night7 was offering a "kit" that would fit the rb20 in an S13/S14. Though unfortunatly he is a liar and a cheat...so i would bag that idea.

P.S. how much for the clutch?

My Hybrid kit will be coming in tomorrow. I am going to do a writeup of the instal with pics, when I get time to instal it. The people hooking me up with this kit also included the hangers for the S13 kit, so I won't have to make anything.

I would normaly recommend a sponsor, but they don't offer these kits. These guys have been really helpful and reasonable on priceyou can contact them at http://www.240supply.com

There is also a pic of the kit installed.

THE HYBRID KIT IS DIRECT BOLT-IN.....

I'M ASSUMING THAT ANY KIT DESIGNED FOR THE R32 OR R33 WILL WORK.

i would find a decent sized intercooler and piece your piping together, cheaper than buying the retail kit...

I got a tube/fin ebay special, 21x9x3, for 260 shipped. It cools well enough, and fit without cutting the vertical core supports or too much from the bumper bar.

What the biggest Intercooler u can fit without major cutting? anyone try the 30x12x3? I'm seriously considering getting a Spearco car and plate intercooler and was thinkin somewhere around that range unless that's too wide? And for the bent piping pieces, what pieces do u need exactly for the rb25det in an S13?

A couple of my buddies that have Hondas with turbo kits use Johnny racer FMIC great price and they kewl very well. He also does custom work if needed. Check him out at http://www.johnnyracecar.com, I am not affiliated with them, I figured its another alternative from Hybrid.

Got these from ebay and I had an extra 90* pipe. What is not shown on the pic is the 4' length of 3" silicone tube which I cut and used as connector. http://www.imagestation.com/members/jabello that's a pic of how I mounted my IC which I got from ebay. It came with those mounting bars. IC $260 , piping $320.

I scored a Johnnyracecar IC core for $30 shipped. It's only like 6" tall but the price was right :) I'm shooting for 300HP so that should be fine, if I want more power I'll just rig up a water spraying system, or start tossing in a couple gallons of toluene with every tank ;)

Couple gallons of toluene- that will start getting expensive. Be another $12 more per tank.

I'm already adding a gallon per tank just to counter this California heat. Brings me up to 93 oct. Its starting to hurt my bank account.

We have 93 at our pumps out here. The water sprayer would probably be a cheaper option, just run it off the windshield wiper nozzles.

(this would only be an issue if I passed the 300WHP mark and started getting detonation because my IC is too small...)

I'm guessing most of you have Intercooler inlets that are 3" for 3"piping all the way, right? Nothing less than 2.5".

probably 95-99% of the people on here have 2.5" OR SMALLER. 2.5" is the norm. Remember you are dealing with compressed air in the charge pipes :)

Sorry, let me clarify. The IC piping I got is 2.5". 3" would just add more turbo lag, I think.

my intercooler is 3" in and out. My piping is 2.5". It's what i could get ahold of at the time...i.e. rbsileighty let me use his when i did my front end conversion. works fine for me. I guess i can think of it like this: maybe one day my turbo will be so big that i can actually use the 3" intercooler to its limit and upgrade to 3" piping
