Nissan 12" fan and the stock fan... haven't installed the engine yet though.

A fan is a fan though, don't be fooled by the price tag on lots of the Flex-A-Lite kind of dual or single fan set-ups out there, you don't need anything huge with a stock motor, or you shouldn't anyway.

Chris,

I'm wondering why you went with the 220 as opposed to the 210 (pusher with adjustable thermostat)? How many amps do these draw when on? What water pump / thermostat do you have as well? Thanks.

In hindsight, I should have gone with the adjustable thermostat. It's hard wired to turn on with the key right now, and that's really annoying when you're working on electronics and everytime you turn the key on the damn fans turn on too. Plus, it never even gets close to overheating with my Koyo radiator, so I doubt the fan would even run much if I had a thermostat.I have a stock RB25 replacement water pump and thermostat.I don't know how many amps it draws.

...Anybody selling an adjustable thermostat I can run inline for my fans? LOL

the hks fan controller works well and you can wire it up to stock wiring to trigger dual fans if you want to.

Perfect. The fan controllers can be purchased for around $30 from Summit or AutoZone. ( FLX- FLX-31147 - $26@Summt) I've got the stock R33 radiator, but I was considering a copper Koyo if my stock unit does not fit properly. Do you have any ducting? What size FMIC are you using?

Kullin_drifter,

Do you have a pic of your puller installed? I'm interested to see how much space is between the motor and the fan!

i put it on the drivers side 12in puller. Plenty of space. The 14" i used as a pusher and there was no way in hell it was gonna fit as a puller. I just moved and my camera is at my in-laws. sorry man.

dual permacool fans. I wouldn't reccomend them. I've had too many problems with them and ended up having to tap the shafts to accept a locknut instead of using the crappy press fitting they use to keep the fanblades on. Oh yeah, had to replace the pin that engages the fans as well. Junk IMO, get SPAL fans and never worry about em again.

This is something I've recently started researching. I've read in a few places that I'd need a combination of fans that could push in excess of 3000CFM to keep the motor cooled properly. Because of the size constraints I have to work with in the Z32 chassis, I have to run a ~16 Tall Radiator, however the radiator can only be ~27-28" long.......this has brought me to a dilemna about what fans to use. I found some 'high-performance' perma-cool 10" fans that supposedly push 2100cfm per 10" fan, and I could definately fit two of those on the radiator I need to use.........anyone else have any input or suggestions on what I might do?

2 permacool 12'' fans here, one runs with the engine on, and the other is on a toggle, never overheated yet, Zirgo makes some nice 14'' fans.

im using the 2 permacool 12" fans too with a adjustable thermostat rigged up to the rad with a temp probe. i have it rigged so when i turn my fog lights on it turns my fans on instead (had to remove fog lights) works fine for me, cept it draws alot of amps.

I'm using FAL 210s as pullers and a pignose A/C fan as a pusher...yeah that's right, THREE fans and I was still overheating. Oh wait, must have been my blown HG. Since I swapped the HG, the highest temps I've seen have been around 76 C with the A/C on but bear in mind that was running on 5 cylinders due to a valve sealing problem in the #3 cylinder. Still working on getting that resolved. I also have quite a bit of ducting and large cut outs in my chuki bumper.

The 210s pull CRAZY amps and if I could do it over, I would have gone with some lower priced fans. Can't deny that they work well, though. I can literally watch the temp gauge plummet when they kick in!
