Been looking around for an exhaust and have been having a hard time making up my mind. I am conflicted in getting a dual or single exhaust. And I dont know which one I should go with. I was looking at an apexi ps and the greddy racing ti-c which are singles, but I have also been looking at some of the duals as well like th greddy evo2 and the borla. I really want a little louder exhaust note but want most of all the most power out of my car as possible. If it helps answer the questions a little better my power goal in my z is to get as close to 400hp as possible while remaining NA. Can someone please give me some advice as to which one would be the best for me? Also reguarding a single would have have to get a Y pipe since the 07's I hear are a dual from factory? Any help would be appreciated.

I would stick with the dual exhaust. If your planning on 400hp go with a true dual exhaust. I'm either looking at the invidia one or most likely the HKS one.

400hp n/a is a very high number...yet to be acheived if im not mistaken...350ish is the highest i've seen and that been a fully built motor. As far as the 07's having dual exhaust..no...we do have dual intakes however...the headers are more of a tubular design and the exhaust is pretty much the same from there back. As far as exhaust choice its really up to you, but a true dual with a h or x pipe will yeild the best gains. search........there are many ppl who have asked these questions before.

I know 400hp is a lot out of an N/A motor but my goal isnt 400hp or more, my goal is to get as close to 400 as possible just so that the power will match the handleing by the time I am done. I did some searching on the forums for exhausts and I mainly find the information inconclusive (mainly because people seem to want outragious numbers that arent very realistic on a N/A motor) thus why I possed my question. In short I guess I just really wanted to know what would be the best way to go for an exhaust to acheive what I want. Thanks for the input everyone keep it coming.

I agree with nvmysrt1838 350 is probably more reasonable out of an NA. But like I stated above you definately want a true dual exhaust.

The HKS exhaust sounds Superb on the new 350z, we just intalled one last week and it is a very deep tone compared to that of the invidia exhaust ( a Bit Louder ) as far as getting 400 hp 100% agreed that 350hp is WAY more realistic to reach. I am only familiar with the Borla exhaust and not as it applies to a Z. I had a Dodge Durango and put a Borla cat-back system in. I loved the sound that came out of the Borla especially compared to the other systems available. Of course, we are talking trucks here so I don't know what the Borla sounds like on a Z but I was very impressed with the quality and performance I got on my Durango. I would guess I got 5% performance (hp, mileage, etc.) improvement so the real benefit was sound related. Good luck.

I wouldn't recommend it. I would go with one of the ones I stated above.

They do, but are super restrictive.

I know aftermarket sounds even better than stock which is amazing because thats really good! But are the stock ones really that restrictive? What about cats to aftermarket exhausts have good cats the flow well or do they tend to be restrictive to? Is it worth it to get high flow cats?

I have a 2006 Track Model Z that was already fast enough. I decided to go with the Nismo headers with the cat-back system because it didn't void my warranty. I was going to go with Borla but it would have voided the warranty and I don't believe the top-end is as good as Nismo. I am really impressed with the sound and the performance of my Z now. I have to watch myself when I'm out on the open road because I can get up to 100+ MPH without even trying. This car is really a blast !

Congrats on your 007 Z. I got mine this April and love every mile. I was looking at the Greddy Evo 2 for my 07. I think it sounds the best. I heard the HKS on a 07 Z and my thought was that it sounded a bit harsh. I installed Crawford Z high flow cats on mine with the stock exhaust and it gave it a much deeper sound than stock. Let me know what you decide. I am in the same boat as you. Good Luck.

I just got the Stillen Dual. I heard it about a week ago and determined that it was probably the best one for me. I prefer a loud and deep exhaust note. Did my research on it and like I said I think it is probably the best exhaust for me. Stillen is claiming it still gets the biggest gains out of all the exhausts on the market but we will see how true that is in another month or two once I am done with break in. I know that the average baselines are right around 270-275 whp for the 07 so we will see. I would have to agree that the HKS are a little harsh but I still have to give it up to HKS if i could afford it I would get it. They have too much of that whin to them without sounding like the honda fart cans that sound like a baby. Will keep updateing about this experience.

If your 350Z sounds like a honda there's something wrong with it.

I didnt mean to say that the Z would sound like a honda (if it did I would agree there is definately somthing wrong) with that exhaust I was just trying to describe the whin. Most of the single and titanium exhausts(dual and single) that I have listened to in my search for an exhaust have all had that distinctive whin sound that I just find annoying. Didnt mean to describe our Z's as sounding like honda's. My bad for an improper description.

Okay well after having my dual exhaust in for a few days now and having fun getting around town with it on here are somthings that I will say about it. I will say that I fully enjoy the system but here are some critizisms that I have of it.1. There is a little bit of a vibration at low rpms that at first wasnt too bad but now has started to become a little irritating, this according to the guys at enjuku should be a pritty easy fix and I think I will get them to fix this when I get some test pipes put in.2. From the inside the exhaust sounds mean at just about any point in the power band. Which is nice hear when your driving, but from the outside its relatively quite which is rather unimpressive when pulling up next to mach 1 at a stop light. (I listened for my car when a valet was bringing my car around so it could have been they way he was driving it)Here are the great pluses that I have noticed in the exhaust.1. At wide open throttle it screams quite literally.2. Acceleration in all gears but more noticeably in second gear occurs at a much greater rate then before.3. As unimpressive as the exhaust sounds at idle once the car has warmed up it keeps you inconspicuious when next to a cop.4. My girlfriend says this is a plus but i dont know depends on how you look at it, but at a particular rpm the bottom of the seats will vibrate. If anyone wants anymore info about the exhaust let me know, hopefully I will beable to get some pics and a sound clip up later on this week.

Okay got my videos up finally only took about an hour. Anyway here are two videos one of which and I think it is obvious which one has my girlfriend reving the car to redline while I tell her what to do. The second one is of me reving the car. There isnt much of a difference in vids but at least one will be comical to listen to.
