What engines interchange with pathfinder/infiniti qx4??

I have a 2002 infiniti qx4 and my engine is bad and all the 3.5s for the qx4/pathfinders are really expensive and was wondering if the maxima,altima,350z ect with fit if the intake manifolds are swapped out because the block numbers are the same,any help is greatly appreciated.

They are likely cammed differently. A 350Z would be cammed for more HP, PF/QX4 for more torque.

Could they be made to work? Probably.

Would they pass smog in California? Unlikely. They might run clean, but they aren't the "right" engine. And a lot of other states are getting just as picky.
