Nope, not an rb20. Unless they got a facelift in the 90's

Edit: Sohc rb20 may be a possibilty, but this one is turbo. I've never heard of an rb20et.

I don't think Nissan has made any other inline 6 but the RB series, maybe a really old RB25? Did they have an RB25ET?

No RB20E in the R31

my best guess is that the rb got a facelift for the 90's, if that *is* an rb.

NO! It's a B16 with a B18 block and a Vtec head from a K20. With that $5k turbo kit from Greddy/HKS.

Its obviously SOHC, from the design of the valve cover. It kinda reminds me of my old pulsar's engine. (without the dual throttle and engine facing the wrong way...)

RB30's only came SOHC stock. All DOHC versions are heavily worked-over hybrids with other RB heads.

My original guess seems to be backedup by this thread.

ah ha. I think it was the curvey of the intake manifold that threw me off. I think the tell tail has to be the location of the oil fill cap. It is VERY close to the front of the valve cover. Also that corner of the VC is very angular, where the 20e is very curved.

so then, rb30et. with twin TB's and upgraded intakemani
