Hey, I need a coolant temp sensor, the o2 prong one that goes to the ECU. I went to schucks with sensor in hand and they couldnt match it to anything in the entire picture catalog. Does anyone know what engine I should be getting it off of? I'm trying to leave paying dealer prices as a last resort.

Just so no one has to deal with this crap again... Nissan was totally dumb about it said they didnt have any. Told me the part number on the sensor didnt help them out any. I asked to see the 98 240sx one anyway and bought it. The probe itself is slightly smaller in diameter but everything else looks the same.

Are you talking about this one?

I didnt see that listed when I skimmed it, then I ctr+f'ed it and searched for sensor and didn't find it that way either. Is there another list you are talking about? I aslo skimmed over a couple of the aussie sites and didnt find it either.

If you can find it, is it correct? I now have 2 people on 240sxforums telling me its wrong and it will read wrong.

i know its been posted numerous times but its either a late model z32 coolant temp sensor or an early model.late has the oval type like yours, early has a square connector.

thanks carl on obth forums for clearing up the confusion, I had read somewhere about the 2 different 300zx plugs and one of them working but the parts store showed me the ones they had in stock for 300's and neither looked right. They only had square versions. Ill reopen this if for some reason the sensor I bought turns out to be wrong.

it might not read correctly! the resistances between the sensors are completely different i believe.

Well, I put it in and after flushing the coolant and burping it I took it for a drive, got a block and it was overheating on a 30 degree night. I Let it idle to cool back downand took it home, switched back the old sensor and reburped the coolant. There was a lot more air in the system which I am guessing was the cause of that trip failing miserably. The car seems to run fine now with the old sensor. I haven't tried the new one since though because now I think my old sensor is just fine.

22630-01U00 is the Nissan part #. Looking through FAST, it was only used on R32 Skylines, RB20 and RB26. Also was used on a C34 Laurel? with a RD28 Diesel engine. Was never directly used in anything else.
