What emission items (specifically vacuum) need to be kept when going turbo?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I'm hooking my IC pipes right now and Just curious what components still need to have vacuum lines going into the intake pipes.

I removed the EGR, PAIRC, and carbon canister so far. If I'm looking correctly, it seems like their is 3 lines connected stock to the KA engine. Can all these be removed?

Looking at the service manual, the items that use the intake vacuum is PAIRC, SCV (what is this??), EGR, and IACV.

Basically I guess I'm wondering what needs to be kept for the car to run smoothly. I know removing the PAIRC is going to throw a code and what not but doesn't really affect the drivability. So I want to make sure for everything else that it won't make the car run crappy...since they're all for emissions anyway. (by the way I live out in the boonies where I don't have to pass emissions anymore...yipee)

afaik the only component which cannot be disconnected is the fpr. This topic has been covered a lot though, there should be a couple threads on it in the first few pages.

a 14b is probably WAYY to small for a KA.

SCV- Swirl Control Valve

Basically when in low rpms it causes a disruption in the intake which makes the intake air/fuel swirl. It is supposed to make the air and fuel mix better, i.e. better combustion..
