I mean besides the obvious non-existent springs that I can't buy anywhere.

I finally decided I've had enough of my 190K old suspension. The struts absolutely need to be changed out, they're beginning to scare me. I bought some Tokico blues which I'll be using with 190K springs. Probably not the best pairing, but unless someone wants to donate some less used stock springs to me, that's what I'll be using.

I'm assuming it would be wise to replace the dust boots, mounts, and any bushings associated with the struts. Anything else critical that I should look into replacing while I've got the struts out? I'm sure the entire suspension needs to be redone, but I just need to get the handling up to "adequate" instead of "100% OEM quality" right now. This needs to be my backup car so I'll have something to drive while I'm ripping apart my Impreza.

That's pretty much it. You won't be duplicating much labor to do the rest later, but to complete the list I would look into new upper links on the front, as well as sway bar end links and bushings, and new power steering rack bushings.

I wonder about all the little things I see in the exploded diagrams on Infiniti Parts USA's website. Insulator upper mount? Spring seat? Insulator spacer?

I just noticed this...I see strut mounting brackets for 91-94 and 94-96, the later ones being higher priced. I'm assuming there's some date of manufacture cutoff where my '94 lands. Anybody have any idea what this date would be?

Man, this is starting to add up. I'll probably be close to $1K in just parts before I'm done.

Check lower arm. Running the suspension into the ground usually results in other links being damaged by additional stress placed on them by failing parts.

The pin and the bushing are probably toast, is it possible the arm is bent to hell also?

I ordered Z32 poly bushings for the steering rack, tension rod, front/rear control arms and a 29mm poly bushing for the front swaybar. I'm waiting to hear back from infinitipartsusa about which strut mounts I need before I submit a gigantic order to them.

In case anybody needs info on what strut mounts to use for their Q, my 1994 uses the 90-94 front strut mounts and the 91-94 rear strut mounts. My date of manufacture is 11/93.

I'm preparing to do this to mine sooner than later. I appreciate any source information for the package that you can share.

Though I am going with the 28mm front, 20mm rear bar from a Q45a on the base model. With this setup I understand I should use OEM bushings for the front and poly for the rear. I already have ES poly businings for the PS rack.
