What else should i do

Over winter break i will be taking my engine out and fixing the timing chain rattle, as well as cleaning everything in the engine bay, and also a tune up, change all fluids, spark plugs, O2 sensor and etc. And i was wondering what else can i do while the whole engine is out. Is there anything else i should replace?

Also is there anything i could do cheaply to make my car go faster while the engine is out. like removing some of the emissions stuff? (but is it still possible to pass emissions without this?)

You probably wont pass emissions if you remove the emissions components.There is not much you can do to free up any lost power due to emissions. Maybe remove the cat, but that doesnt always add a whole lot, and you definitely wont pass.be sure to check the ignition components, cap rotor..etc. DOnt bother replacing them unless they look really bad. Maybe do the fuel filter/air filter too.

thanks for the reply.I plan on doing the air filter also, but the fuel filter i replaced about 4 or so months ago, as well as the spark plug wires. but i'll have to check out the cap and rotor
