dont touch the bottom end unless you're doing a full rebuild or fixing the crank collar.

oem rod bolts are not supposed to be reused, but some people seem to have had success doing so.

No. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Wait, what about your crank collar? Have you replaced that or verified that you have a good drive?

congrats. welcome to the world of rebuilding. might as well do the bottom end at this point. n1 pump is ok, buying a new oem is ok. i wouldn't reuse your old one as the drive is probably dented from years of short collar use.

i'm not going to build the bottom end yet. right now at this point i just want a stock reliable motor.

is 133 shiped a bad price for the JUN collar?

read the writeup a bit more carefully. in order to install the collar you need to remove the crank. if you remove the crank you typically want to use new fasteners, in which case may change your big end tolerances, requiring new bearings. then you might as well build the bottom end.

if you plan to fix the crank collar, i would rebuild the motor.

if you don't want to rebuild the motor yet, just get a new pump and put it on.

hard to say.. but its in a sense like restarting the timer on your oil pump going out.

thats how they came from the factory, so it will probably last for some time...

not that big of a deal.

no quotes on this, but if you just replace the bolts with new oem torque to yield bolts-same torque specs, instead of new arp type hardware. the big end shouldnt go out of round.ive never used oem on rebuilds, so im not 100%

just tell you machinest to check when he press the new bolts in. he should charge around $15 per rod to press and resize a rod.

cutting corners never ends well.
