Im not trying to tune with a egt gauge, but I think my temps maybe too high. I have a ka24e 8-1 compression running 15psi t3/t4 with afr around 12 up top and timing at like 16-17 degrees. I can hit 1600f very easy and very fast and was wondering where everyone else is at. I am not sure what it would actually max out at because when I see it get close to 1600fI get my foot out of it.

my temps usually dont get past 1450-1500 tops. a few times i was hitting 1600 instantly when i had way toooo much timing retard. this made the temps go up because the combustion was happening later and closer to the egt.

what kind of turbo are you running? what heat range plugs?

personally i really only watch my egt gauge for when my car is warming up. they are sluggish when in boost and only help the most when using methanol, propane, and nitrous which cools down the temps a lot

Thanks Structure I think my computer is pulling out timing for some reason.A friend and I were going out to check everything like a week ago and the car just didnt feel right so we pulled over and put a timing gun on it and revved it up and it was only running like 5 degrees at like 6 grand.then we did it again and it was fine we hooked the wideband up and it felt normal again so we did a good 3rd and 4th gear pull on the highway and the afr was nice but now I got this gauge and just wanted to hear what you guys average at wot. I guess I better get to the dyno so I can put the timing gun on it and try to figure out whats goin on.

I have no idea why it is pulling timing but it must be.None of the modifiers are kicking in according to our datalogging.

I am very afraid it might just mess around and add timing on its own at the wrong time.VERY SCARY!!!!

what kind of standalone?

with standalones you have total control, factory/normal ecu's are removed for standalones

How did you tune the timing on it?

what kind of standalone is it, and does it have a knock sensor control, check them maybe you have low nums in there and its retarding too much.

It's a commander 950.I dont have a knock sensor. It has what it calls modifiers like coolent vs tps and map vs tps thats what i was talking about above with it pulling timing but none of those were a problem. If say the coolent would get to hot I can have it pull timing /add fuel ,stuff like that.
