I have a 94Q with active suspension system. It has a JWT ECU in for the 94Qa. I'm not running N2O or anything special. Is it going to work ok? Or do I have to find an ECU for a 94 Q with active. Are there any other years that would work. Does anyone have one available. If the JWT ECU is ok, then I'll keep it.

Assuming the JWT ECU is for an active car and matches the California or Federal emissions of the car, you should be fine.

If the car or ECU was set up for N2O, it's not expecting it all the time and would have a switch for putting it into N2) mode. Wes can add more, as he has this functionality on his tri-mode JWT ECU.

The real question before using the JWT, is how are your knock sensors?

allow me to clarify some things...

Really theres only 2 types of ECUs, those for TCS and non TCS... Those ECU actuallly have different hardware in them, but things like Active suspension and cali/Federal are all just software. In other words, if it doesnt match up we can put new software in to make it match up...

People really make a big deal out of california vs standard, and it really make NO difference when it comes to ECUs... Trust me, ive done all the testing with my stash of ECUs and it doesnt matter.

also, the JWT ecu IGNORES knock sensors... The knock sensor map is only slightly different than the regular fuel map, so in essence if your car was knocking there would be no way for the ECU to stop it, however, if you always run premium it shouldnt ever knock (its programmed conservatively like that)... hence why JWT says use ONLY premium, because your car is gonna be screwed if you dont... especially if its really hot, if its cold outside you might get away with it

If your JWT has Nitrous and theres no arming switch anywhere it will expect nitrous all the time... Im pretty sure that my JWT ECU says w/n2o on it somewhere, so it shoudl be easy to tell..

the point of all this babbling....?? DONT WORRY ABOUT IT, IT WILL BE JUST FINE!

Here's a pic of the ECU label. What do I need to do to be sure it won't harm the engine?

The label says: 94 Q45 A FOR USE WITH N2O AND .052 JET

Looks like you have a JWT NOx ECU. Doesn't Wes have one to since his car is so equipped? He can tell you if it is switched so it can run on straight gasoline.

Interseting, so you DO have a nitrous ECU... Cool!!!!

Basically heres how the ECU works. First off, it willrun nitrous fine with pump gas, so thats fine.... I dont use my race fuel cell with just JWT nitrous.

The nitrous circuit is normally open, so that means if you have no switches attached to it or the relay, it will assume that the nitrous is being fired at WOT... So youll have great performance until WOT at which point it will bog down because it thinks 100 shot of spray is going into the motor! The nitrous part of the ECU simply opens the injectors at nearly 100% duty cycle, there isnt any mixture control... It switches to the seperate nitrous board above 4 volts as read by TPS.

If your not going to be using the nitrous, youll just need to ground the arming switch... I'll have to go through and look at the wiring diagram for it, once you get to that point, but you have to get a motor in it that runs, first!!

Here is a link to the JWT nitrous system install instructions. It has a crude wiring diagram. This is what I used to get started. The arming switch is either on or off. If it's off it runs the non-nos program, switched on it runs the nos program.http://jimwolftechnology.com/w...T.PDF
