Hey nico, long story short. I have done the 5sp swap on my s13 but i don't know if the trans is from a s14 or a s13, i forgot lol  . Now i know the s14 trans comes with a CKP in the bell housing, i think on the OBD2 trans only, right?? But is there any other way i can tell what trans i have?? Also when ordering a 1 piece driveshaft would this make a difference length wise or anything?? IIRC i think the car being abs or not is the only thing that changes the length of the DS. Also by the way mine is NON abs.

You will need a s13 non-abs drive shaft, s13 and s14 trannys are the same other than 96 and newer trannys having the sensor on the top of the bell housing.

If you are going to put an rb in your car anyways, I would save the money and squirrel it away for later use to get an rb shaft and just rock a stocker until the time comes that you swap.

Some S14 trannys may have the metal dust shield that you may need to remove if you find the DS seems too long.

I took that off already, it was being a pain anyways lol. But while we're here after you took that metal shield off the aluminum end of the trans, where the seal rests, the bottom was chipped off. Not to big of a piece, the seal is there and its not leaking, but I was wondering if that would cause any problems??

Don't think it would as long as there is no leak.
