...i hijacked this thread from the Versa forums (hope the mods won't get mad) , but i wanted to bring this thread over here and find out the history or the reason most of us have crazy/weird/cool screen names. i'll start:

fiveliterbeater has been my screen name for the past 10 years and counting. the reason/idea behind that name is because when i bought my first LS1 camaro back in 1999, i was a big LS1.com fan, and one day as i was browsing the forums , one of the board members had posted a pic of a white 1998 SS camaro powered by a twin T66 turbocharged 383 LS1, and it's license plate number was: 5LTRBTR

i thought it was the coolest bold statement ever so i took it for myself. some people don't get it; ther're like: "does that screen name mean you can drink more than 5 liters of beer?"

Antz is an acronym for automatic negative thoughtz. My profession is as a clinical psychologist (google “Jim Goodwin PTSD” or “Jim Goodwin Prozac”) and your “antz” are what pay my bills; for my ’06 M35x et al. Oh yeah, the “z” at the end is poetic license for plural.

We human beings have had a long term relationship thinking up irrational automatic negative thoughtz that cause us inside to feel bad and subsequently to act out or manifest these thoughts upon others, treating them badly. Hence for humanity: “Antzrus.”

My job is to help folks identify such thinking as irrational and w/both (often Prozac type) medications from their physician and cognitive psychotherapy from me, both used concurrently, we learn to fight back and defeat such self talk and subsequent behavior before it significantly interferes w/our and the lives of others. Hence; the above yellow, red and black “No Antz” avatar you see displayed and on my business card.

Interesting thread...

Back in late 90s when internet chatting was a craze (at least for me) I wanted to come across as a friendly person living in california, hence my screen name pal-in-cal.

Mines pretty straight forward. It means what it says and nothing more... I guess I'm just not as unique as some of you guys. Oh well, it's short and to the point....works for me!

Well i adopted the name after my father passed some 12 yrs ago. He worked for the USPS and he was a ladies man. From what i understand he went through almost all of the single ladies in the Post Office.

Hence the nickname PeterRabbit

Ken in AZ

on the surface it looks pretty straight forward but actually I'm a super - super Nissan Z car guy so it actually holds a double meaning - Ken in a Z and I live in arizona (AZ) so "Ken in AZ" name fit

Arbitrage is the economics concept of exploiting price differences between two similar assets to make a profit. Think about selling your 2006 M45 with 30K miles for $25,000 and buying an identical car from someone down the street for $24,000. You're $1000 better off. If you could do that same exact thing 10,000 times, you'd be rich. Thats an example of arbitrage.

Before doing what I do now, I was involved in capital markets arbitrage. Thus ArbitrageMan

My first name in Yosmany, so I dropped the any and added a 45.

Another one of those straight forward ones.

I've been in a few forums the past few years according to what cars I've had or to do research for a car I wanted. I've always been able to come up with a screenname in like 5 seconds flat.

When I joined this forum recently, it took me forever to try to come up with something and I even asked my wife (who thinks of potential baby names all the time) and she couldn't come up with anything either. With all that said...

Mine is what it is because I started listening to a whole lot more jazz in the car (combination of me getting older, the wonderful sound system, and being able to say for the first time in my life that I'm driving EXACTLY what I want to drive).

Long story to describe "writer's block".

***Plus, I couldn't just use "Monalisa" (my wife did at least name the car) for fear that everyone would think I was a female.

In a manner of sorts I am a teacher (Doctor is Latin word for "teacher") of exterminators: Exterminate another's "antz" YOU save THEIR a** for a day. Teach another to exterminate their own "antz" THEY save THEIR OWN asses for a lifetime...

Hehehe, my wife named the voice coming off the nav/voice commands: Tokyo Rose.

No name for the machine, just: "the M."

Getting older?? I just turned 28 and you are 27. Am I old??? btw my screen name is my initials plus 123 because rsg is almost always taken. Boring, I know.

mine = two of the most high-powered items I own. My M45 and a Colt Model 1911 45 Cal. pistol. Too big to carry concealed, so I strap it on and wear it out in public here in AZ, just because I can! People do give me a wide berth on sidewalks and parking lots - LOL.

LOL Oh geez you city folk shur ar funny

Seriously though - it's not a cowboy law, it's just a basic human right to carry a weopon. It's legal to carry in plain sight - need a ccw permit to carry concealed

well i know as americans we have the right to bear arms, but i thought that applied only to us keeping guns in the house; i didn't know we could walk down the street looking like Clint Eastwood in the movie: the good, the bad and the ugly....

Apparently, from the above if you are a human, you have a "human right" to bear arms.

This sounds a lot like the way too many Americans think. The rest of the world does not have the right, it is against the law and so therefore Americans are the only humans on this planet, the rest are subhuman.

Is it no wonder we as a nation in the last 8 years have aquired the scorn of so many "subhumans..."

yep -- no crime in my neighborhood -- too many carry.

antzrus -- I would NOT try this in Socialist Cali - Pelosi will have you exiled to Mexico (free trade agreement?). And yeah, I used to live there. Excellent climate but that's about it anymore. My sister lives there and has a tax refund due and the State gave her a freaking IOU! Unreal. She can cash it in November - she hopes.

In the house I keep a Mossburg "street sweeper" - 12 Ga black pump shotgun, 21" length and pistol grip. Just seeing that thing for one second and the perp would run out the door very quickly. Seriously BAD looking gun. And no, there are NO kids in the house. And no, I've never shot anyone. No one "effs" with you when you carry - or so it has been. They just assume you are a little deranged or ? ? -- whatever, it works for me.

Oh, and in my pocket is a Beretta Tomcat 32 with Winchester Silver tips. Just in case - LOL

Remember boys and girls, gun control only prevents law abiding Americans from owning guns because the Bad Guys don’t obey the laws, no matter how restrictive or lenient the laws are! Just ask any cop.
