Are you building a track car? For every 100ibs. removed you will only shave off 1/10 of a second from your qaurter mile time. I used to be obsessed with weight reduction too but realized that gutting your interior does nothing further than create a noisey cabin that gets alot hotter in the summer due to less insulation. The difference is not going to be seen or felt at all except for gas mileage. Hundreds of pounds will need to be shed in order to see any difference. And keep in mind too light of a car will be harder to control at high speeds. Your car is already light to begin with. I suggest focusing on building HP. A 300zx Twin Turbo 2 seater weighs 3,474ibs. and they rape.

1993 Hatchback.
Removed: Rear seats, belts, trunk paneling, spare tire, A/C, radio, speakers, misc. brackets and bolts.
Replaced: Driveshaft, battery, flywheel.
About 2510lbs with no driver and no gas.
The front seats are insane heavy...
My S14 front seats weigh 30lbs each. I don't know what S13 seats weigh, can't be much more.
Driveshaft is next steel is only affordable option?
Steel is just the cheapest option. The aluminum one from shaftmasters only costs $46 more than their steel. I weighed the aluminum shaft at 10 lbs less than my stock driveshaft.
