it really depends on where it was removed from. Is it still on the transmission itself? Or totally disconnected? It attaches to a little nipple on the transmission bellhouse. Or if it wasn't disconnected there, there's also one end that has a metal rectangular piece that has a hole at the end of the metal. That's supposed to be lined up with the top hole in the bellhouse when you're bolting the transmission back up to the engine.

It's your vent tube. The actual vent is supposed to sit at the top bolt of the bellhousing, but you can place it where the starter bolt is if that's easier for you.

I'd suggest not to place it by the starter bolts. I did that during my SR swap, and when my starter failed that vent tube u-bend made getting the bolts out a pain in the ***. Put it somewhere where it's tucked away and can't get in your way.
