I would like to know if anyone has seen the inside of our shifters?I want to know what the bottom of it looks like. My friend just installed some short shift adapters and it got me wondering what ours looks like.Tommorrow I will be opening my v up and examining it and will post pics for the curious.

no dude...I've already added my own shift KNOB...I'm asking for whats under the WHOLE shifting SHAFT.I'm asking for short shifting purposes regardless of what lag there already is from 1st to 2nd to 3rd gear.Tanks for that bump though.

After my friend put his thing and we tried it out, it shifted much faster and we didn't have to push/pull as much anymore. It's nice. But yeah if you want to contribute to this as well, POST THEM UP! haha

oh we aren't checking the shift KNOB. we are checking under where the shaft of the shifter leads to. If you want to check out KNOB specifications, etc, search "shift knob" like that guy posted earlier on here. He even bumped it. THANKS!

ALRIGHT!!!!I've got some good and maybe some obvious, yet maybe new...uh news.

Okay I believe the reason we don't have any short shifter out or replacement is because of the Reverse gear locking mechanism. It appears to be a black block that encircles the stick shift which has a small lever-like attachment that goes down towards and into a slightly bigger white block. What lies beyond and under our shifters will be found out tommorrow.

Hopefully by late morning/early afternoon.

^^^^Thanks for the pic, that just validated my guess on how the white shifter box is held in. 4 screws to each corner, which means that if we aren't able to get a short shifter out, maybe it'll be cheaper if we get some sort of bushings and a shifter adapter extension to place under the shifter shaft stick.

Although the short throw will be around 22some% it will still be considered a short shift.

This idea came to me from Skunk2's Honda Fit short shifter adapter.

hmm...what's the orange box thing right ahead of the ebrake?

Just took all my stuff off like in that pic up there and oh man did I find out so much.

Good news. Our shifters on the bottom and so forth are the exact same as the Honda Fit's and thus we will be able to use it as well.

Only problem is...there is metal above the shifter box and looks like the only way to get the shifter box to the top over this metal will be to use a dremel for a slight modification. I will let you guys know how it turns out.

and also

I've uploaded a video up onto YouTube for your viewing pleasure regarding this. I think this is easier to understand once you see it.
