what does k series mean?

my mate said his car is a 94, white, proper k series 180sx... what does k series mean?

J's, Q's, and K's are all different trim levels of S13 and S14 Silvia's. I'm not sure 180SX used the same trim levels. K's were pretty much the top of the line with the SR20DET and other goodies.
