Had my 97 Q45t at the inspection station today (need to register it in Delaware) and I was told that my left rear brake was bad. The first test it registered zero, and on the re-test it measured 82 but 76 is passing.

Does anybody have any idea what these people are talking about? I haven't got a clue.

Measure the relative braking friction of all 4 tires and thus brakes.

Do I need to have the brakes checked? The car seems to stop fine, there are no noises, and the car does stop straight. No indicators on the dashboard, and all of the proper lights come on and go out at startup.

Well, one of the advantages of using the dealer for oil changes is they do an inspection of your undercarraige and suspension including brakes.

If you want to do it, remove the rear wheels first and inspect the pads and the sliding pin for lubrication. Then perform the same with the front calipers and pads.
