Well that's good to know.
112K is pretty common point for replacement for Hall effect sensors.
The way I always test them is to hook them up to an oscilloscope and compare the two banks. I don't know if you have access to such equipment.
When you take the dipstick out and inspect it is is dirty, almost looks like its powder coated? That is a good indicator of whether there is crap buildup inside the motor.
If you do not have access to diagnostic tools maybe paying the hour check out would be worth it as there are some expensive components.
The sensors may be the cause , especially if it only one bank
