What does anyone know about "Blitz Access ECU"??

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

I have mentioned in other threads that my RB20DET clip came with an ecu labeled: "Blitz Access" but no one has ever mentioned anything about this ecu.

Now that I am trying to figure out why my speedometer works, but the datascan registers 0mph, I have begun searching about the speedometer wiring and ran across another thread mentioning a Blitz Access-tuned ecu with some limiter's removed:

zerothread/316911

Can anyone please tell me what you know about this ecu (or modded ecu??) or tell me where I can find out more??

1. I am highly interested because it is running my motor...umm..derrrr2. I am highly interested because it (or some setting in it) might be preventing a speed signal from passing to/through the ecu, and therefore, not getting to my datascan???

all info is appreciated!!!

*bump*

anyone running a Blitz Access ECU? I now understand that a Blitz ECU is a replacement with some limiters taken out, but I don't know how it accomplishes that. So I am left wondering: Does the Blitz ECU report the speed to the Datascan software?? Anyone know for sure?? I ask this seriously because the people at Blitz can EASILY lift the speed limiter by simply creating an OPEN in pin 53's signal, INSIDE THE ECU THAT IS. I don't want to take my ECU out and tear into it just for curiosity...However, if the situation ever arises that I need to unscrew the bolt mounting the ECU wiring harness, then I will see if the Blitz ECU has a pin in position for pin 53. If there is not a pin there, then the signal is indeed OPEN and the Blitz ECU never knows the speed, thereby never limiting it (??????).....

I had one in my R32 when I had the RB20 in it. I *believe* it is just a burned ROM chip on the board. My shop guy tunes RB20's all day long with a chip burner, but he can't do RB25 and S14 boards for near as cheap--something to do with not having the right kinda of daughter board or something.
