What does 54 Signal Circuit From A/T Control Unit To ECM Mean?

I am having trouble diagnosing the problem with my car. I got 5 1/2 second blinks and 5 .3 second blinks from my ecu, but the closest code I could find that is related to my problem was 54. I check the count 8 times. The light blinked 5 slow 5 faster every time.What does Signal Circuit From A/T Control Unit To ECM Mean?Thanks

If you got code 55 from which your description is saying then that means The Ecu is telling you theres nothing wrong with the engine and/or components. However, The Transmission has it's on computer, therefore it's own diagnostic procedure.Heres the link to follow that procedure: zer...age=2 Please make sure your car is FULLY WARMED up before doing this procedure.

But on another note.. What is it exactly you are looking to fix?I know you had the problem with the trunk popping and all but with the revving and shutting off, It sounds like only one thing to me because i've had that problem. Possibly the Mass air flow sensor. This part is usually overlooked and causes many problems such as odd shifts, poor shifts, poor gas mileage, revving of the engine, stalling of the engine, lack of power, and can even make other components of the vehicle look like they are bad (i.e. Transmission)

Hey alex61089, Thanks for the response. My car is doing all kinds of crazy stuff. 1st I want to fix the transmission issue and then 2nd I want to fix what I believe is an issue with the anti-theft system. I did that A/T diagnosis yesterday but I can't remember what it gave me I believe it was 11 flashes about .5 seconds apart. I went to try it again tonight and I started it. It sounded and felt like it was struggling to stay on. I rolled it forward to keep the fums from going into the house and then the car shut off. I tried turning it over a few more times and then I decided to check the ecu once again. I think it's giving me a 12 and a 22.

I'm confused.

When you do the diagnostic for the transmission the lights will blink fast .5 seconds, the ones that pause are the ones you need to record, count them as you go, whichever one holds longer is whats wrong. As far as the diagnostic of the ecu just follow the instructions here: zerothread/217489 Code 12 is the mass air flow sensor, that could be why your car is stalling outand 22 is your fuel pump control, these are both considerable reasons as why your car is behaving this way. triple check these codes just to be sure before you break out the wallet

I rechecked the transmission it gave me 11 solid flashes. I went and bought some crc maf sensor cleaner I treated it according to the instructions and still nothing. the new battery I bought will not hold it's charge, and the car will not turn over. When I attempt to reconnect the security horn it still stay's on blast. I started unplugging wires under the starring column to see if I could get it to stop. I unplugged the control assy theft warning box, and some brown plugs to the left of the staring column because there was a repeated ticking sound. I checked the ecu. At first it gave me a what seemed to be a either a 12,13, 23 or a 33. It flashed like this 1-2--1-123. This was while I had the battery jumper cables from my wives car connected to it. When I disconnected the cable the car would even turn over I rechecked it and it gave me a 55 again.

Yodawill2k, I think it's giving me a 43. How do I adjust the tps?

Do you have a copy of the FSM ??It has a good procedure along with pics.You will need a good Meter if you don't have a consult.
