I contact some people that make Laptop Consult software and some are too busy to respond to my emails. So with that said I aim to create a topic that I can show them and they can base there software off of if its not too tall of a request.

I want to see in the new Laptop Consult:

The ability to see 3rd gear in the A/T diagnostics (Because on 1,2,D,N,R and P show up).

Of course more control unit support.

A guaranteed power balance test, Right not only each cylinder (Spark and Fuel) is shut off. I am not sure whats done about ignition timing, Auxiliary Air Control and Injector pulse width.

Transmission temperature sensor voltage alerts (If the sensor is sensitive enough).

If ECU talk would monitor every 13 milliseconds (like the real Nissan Consult) instead of every 11 milliseconds.

Some of these requests are already known but I list them here so they are not re-requested.

What do you want to see in the new Laptop Consult Software when ever it may appear?

How about the ability to adjust the active suspension or lock it in place..that would be pretty awesome.

whats this? ECUTalk logs data that it receives, if thats faster than proper consult, then thats a fault of the proper consult. the rate is determined by the ECU and the number of sensors selected, the software has no control over this, other than dropping packets if it cant keep up (e.g. datascan only does ~13 packets/sec). but im not sure how you tested this, since the real consult doesnt have logging does it? (unless you mean freeze frame data or something?)

do you know what consult operation does that? here's the list of options i saw:
'Work Support: Hydraulic System, Operation Check
'Active Tests: Pressure Cont Valve, Flow Cont Valve, Fail-Safe Valve, Fan Motor, Warning Lamp, Pump

I compared the A/T monitor data and subtracted some of the times found on that screen. Its in page AT-16 of the 1993 Infiniti Q45 service manual. Other year service manual may have it on a different number page.

Its not a problem at all how fast it monitors, but it would make it a little more authentic if it monitored every 13 milliseconds.

well its technically not possible to change the update speed for a given number of sensors, because its the ECU and number of sensors being streamed that determines how many packets of data thats sent. if you stream the max sensors u might only get 30 packets/sec (33ms between), if you stream only one sensor then you might get 100 packets/sec (10ms). so its not really logical to want it changed from 11 to 13 (and not possible to do - the only way to reduce time between packets is to drop them...and the new packet would be a function of the original time - so 11ms or 22ms or 33ms or 44ms depending how many are being dropped).

some ECU's that have been reverse engineered have been found they only process consult data to send out once every 10ms at most. which explains the 10ms or 100packets/s limitation.

A couple of more:

When manually adjusting the fuel (Injector pulse width), Air (Auxiliary Air Control valve) and Ignition (Timing) it would be nice to have simple up and down buttons to increase or decrease respectively.

On the Power Balance test I would like to be able to see Timing, Auxiliary Air Control valve and injector pulse width values to make sure the ECU doesn't try to compensate in any way.

And I only want to see what is truly supported on my vehicle. There are some extra sensors, solenoid adjustments that are meant for other cars (Applies to current version of OBD Scan Tech Nissan).

Can function tests be ported (Brought over) to the laptop Consult?

Function tests are for the truly stupid, The Nissan Consult does 99% of the work for the Tech.

I can't be the only guy that want to see improvement!
