Id get a billet one, its a lot better and worth the money.
There's nothing wrong with that converter! I have the same exact one in my Q and guy's who have pulled beside my Q with stock converters wonder why I get the hole shot advantage. I can't speak on the Billet converter but I know that I wouldn't waste the money to upgrade from what I have to the Dragon. Takes a little getting use too the stall portion espically when your use too driving a Q with a stock converter. Plus U can see in the pic's part of the process being performed! If U are interested just shoot me an E-MAIL!superuber wrote:I'm looking to get a torque converter and saw this. What do you think?

Maybe, if you were launching a space shuttle. ATF would require it's own radiator sized cooler.elwesso wrote:id really like to get one of the ones you have if he made one in like a 3500 stall.
Never will. No relevance to street performance, unless your whole world is stoplight drag racing.elwesso wrote:with all do respect Brian, when was the last time you drove a Q with a high stall converter?
That is CERTAINLY not true! it makes a HUGE difference in real world driving... IMO its better than having a 4.08 differential, its just as fast off the line, if not faster, and you dont lose any top end or fuel economy.... Its smooth when you want it to be...maxnix wrote:Never will. No relevance to street performance, unless your whole world is stoplight drag racing.
Think about it this way.. When you drive a manual trans, you can roll into it at like 1500 RPM for a nice smooth takeoff... Or, you cna roll into it at about 3000 RPM and youll get up and go quite a bit faster...RyanH wrote:Ok, sorry to threadjack here, but my knowledge of automatic transmissions leaves something to be desired. What is the stall speed, and why does raising it make the car faster off the line? My assumption is that the torque converter locks up sooner, but I don't really know. An explanation of stall speed and what exactly it means would be awesome.
Explained so a 3 year old can understand! thanks wes, Nice job! Wes, whats the stall on yours?elwesso wrote:

sort of the same idea, except it doesnt ALWAYS go up to 3000... When i drive my Q under low acceleration, its not much different than a stock Q, but when i hammer the gas it gets up and goes much quicker....
Im thinking 2800 or so... I would like it higher!!!superuber wrote:Explained so a 3 year old can understand! thanks wes, Nice job! Wes, whats the stall on yours?
