Here's the infiniti logo from original to current. I may do another layer of black...

WHat do you think? ANyone want to buy it

This is from Wes's car, but it gives you an idea of what the original looked like:

Sanded and still rough

Here the logo is polished:

Here is a picture with the logo polished and the surround painted gloss black. The little dimples you see at the top side are just because of the light and angle:

Oh, I decided on gloss black instead of flat black because.. Well, gloss looks hot

I like it painted, but wouldn't it look good too, if it was color-matched to the exterior car color?

Flat black would make th epolished logo stand out more.

Excellent job! I can't wait to see your polished plenum.

LOL, good eye.

What do you think of the painted parts? I still have to do another layer to smooth everything out, but it looks better then original.

What do you think of it? A before and after is right infront of the fan shroud. Opinion?

Oh, and I am going to remove that baffle that's behind the airbox, connected to the lower section.

I was trying to remove the power steering resevoir, but I couldn't get the hoses off .

ANy suggestions?

They look good. I like using the darker grey colors, to mix it up a bit. There is a great color, called bare metal or something like that. I used it on my brake calipers, and brake rotors. It looks clean, and doesn't stand out.

Get you a NISMO oil filler cap.I think that baffle is used, for extra volume, when you stomp on it, to keep the pressure down. Clean it up rather than remove it.

Next, you need to replace the plastic pipe between the air box and the throttle body, with chrome aluminum pipe. Just buy a cheap Honda cold air box, and cut it to fit. That should add some really nice bling.

Where are you seeing the traction control fluid?

Brake fluid is low, and the fluid isn't actually bad. It's fairly new. Hmm, I dind't notice that it was low though, maybe I'll have to check for leaks.

Overflow cap is gone. No need for one when car is not running. I'll probably seal it with duct tape though.

traction control fluid{uses brake fluid}is in resivour a few inches to the left of the oil filler cap-get some brake fluid and flush this and add some to the brake resivour also. might want to turkey baste the trac fluid out and replace with fresh once a week for 4-6 weeks to exchange majority of the fluid in the system.you are done when it remains a very light amber.

Brake fluid is FULL of rust.

Bad news.

Flush it STAT, should be crystal-clear.

First I sanded it, then wet sanded with: 220, 320, 400, 600, then 1000 grit paper.

Then I used Mothers Billet Aluminum polish. I found out that originally I wasn't using a high enough speed buffer and that is why I couldn't get a mirror finish on it. SO I put a wool wheel on the rotary tool and put it on high speed and went at it. It looks much shinier now.

And for the black, I used gloss black with the symbol masked off. This part was a pain in the arse because when I went to take the tape off, it pulled some paint up with it. SO I removed all the paint and did it again, but this time I cut the paint from the tape with a razor blade.

I have nothing left to do except finish the back four runners. The rest of the intake is DONE

Now, what should I do with the Throttle Body? It has way too many little nooks and crannies to get in there and sand it. Any recommendations? Wes suggested that I paint it black for a contrast. Any opinions on that?

Huh, shouldn't you be in school right now?...

Anyways, I suggest that you try a little section on the inside of the wheel where noone will see it. If you get a result that you like, then continue.

First though, you have to find out what your wheels are made of. THere are different types of metal polish for different types of metal.

What kind of paint are you planning on using? ARe you going to sand it a little before to get good adhesion? Primer? Clear coat? Color?
