Hey guys I am just curious what you guys think I will be getting for WHP when I install these mods.

Nismo CAI (already on)JWT lightweight flywheel (already on)JWT clutch (already on)DC headersTop Speed N1 exhaust

Just a little curious what kind of boost I should expect over stock from this...

has the car been baselined? what kind of dyno? different dyno's will ready higher or lower than tohers, stock on a mustang an early 350Z puts around 240whp down, you should have 20-25 whp over stock

No, I've never dyno'd the car. I was just curious roughly what kind of boost I should get...

If I were going to bother with dyno tuning I might think about getting the ECU flashed while I was at it, but I am not sure if it would be worth it with just these mods.

To make the most of it you should consider an engine damper. Its not too expensive, might be the next thing on my list.

Will an engine damper really make much difference? I thought they were mostly for looks and to stop the motor from rocking too much....

Not too sure of anyone else who has one on nico, but my buddies dad has one in his Z. If you think of the principle physics of it, I guess it makes sense. Preventing the motor from rocking asserts the momentum forward, thus..creating more power.

Well I did a little digging around and came up with some info. The engine damper doesn't in fact add power nor allow more power to be used. But it does do 2 things that are useful. 1 it provides more stability for the engine creating less movement and increasing the longevity of motor mounts. 2 while it stops the engine from rocking it also helps stop the whole drivetrain from moving, thus creating easier shifts and less wheel hop on take-offs.

That is the most useful info I could find lol. Lots of people said it was just for decoration or completely useless. I finally found a guy that mentioned all the japanese race teams tend to use them and he explained why. Which is the reasons I posted above.

Yeah thats true not exactly more power but more momentum. Damn I worded what i said earlier wrong, think of it as running around a track with a running shoe one size too big, then running around with a shoe that fits perfectly.

i tried.

if you want a big power gain, forced induction is the only way, you can throw on every possible bolt on spend thousends of dollars and gain 40 whp and thats with tuning! or you can add a sc for around $3500 and add 100 whp

Oh, I am definitely planning on going FI in the future. But I have been holding off because I don't have the money. Where did you find an SC kit for $3500?? The cheapest I have found is about $4500

**EDIT**Ok did some more looking around. The stillen kit is only $3700 but you also have to find a different hood to make it fit......not sure how that would even effect the strut tower bar.
