I've been doing some research for wheels for my 03 M45 and came up with these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1

What I really want are these!!!!!

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels...dClar=

The thing is, I am sick and tired of spending $3000-$4000 for wheels. I had a 1997 TT Supra and bit the bullet and bought 18" 3pc Volk forged Volk wheels and they cost $700 each, not including tires. They were supposed to be strong (forged, 3pc), but were actually weak and bent easily. I told myself I would never spend that much for wheels again, unless I have a really really really nice car. I really like those OZ Galileo's, but I don't want to commit to spending over $3500 for wheels and tires. The Stern's on Ebay are OKAY, and are the right look for the 03-04 M45. Chrome is NOT and option. No offense intended, but chrome is corny and the worse thing to happen to wheels. HA HA!!! The look is too loud and the wheels are heavier as well. Stay away from the Iron Maiden look!!!!!!!! (you can now repsond negatively about my remark on chrome wheels, i'm expecting it! haha)

So anyways what do you think? Oh by the way, what is the right offset for the 03 M45? 32MM or 38MM for the Stern's on Ebay??

I appreciate any feedback

First of all I agree with you statement on chrome rims 100%, no chrome for me on anything I own, polished aluminum is as shiny as I like it.

Of the wheels you offered up I actually like the look of the Sterns the best. Are you seriously thinking of doing 20"s though? Perhaps 19's would be the better choice?

Those Volks you mentioned may have been light but weren't strong. In mid price wheels you get one or the other, 2 get both lightweight and strong is very expensive.

Good luck on your search!

Yeah, I've decided on 20's. I know it's the player/baller look, but I've seen M45's with 19's, and even with the lowest profile, there is too much tire showing. It just doesn't look right. This is my first "Sedan" type vehicle, and I just want to crusie and am not worried about power or 1/4 mile times like I did in my Supra.

I probably will get the Stern's, cuz the OZ's will be about $4000 total. I wouldn't mind spending that kind of money, if not probably a whole lot more, if I had a really, really nice car, something European maybe. Not that the M45 isn't nice, I'm just talkin about like BMW M5 nice.

Anybody know which offset to get? 32MM or 38mm?

Personal taste for everyone, I have chrome for summer & polished alum for winter.

A word don't go cheap, if you love the OZ get them. You have to live with them, unless you're not keeping the M.

Depends on what width you are going for ... or did I miss this in your post?

Ah, okay, I missed your question in the first post.

With 20" x 8.5" wheels, I would probably go with the 32mm offset ... the 38mm might be a bit too close to the suspension stuff, although it is likely to work. I'd be careful about lowering the car with 32mm offsets, though, since this may (I repeat: may) make the tire sit a bit under the fender and have contact in hard bumps. But that can be cured with rolling the fender, if you really want to!

Note that the eBay wheels, if they are designed to also fit Lexus, will probably have the wrong hub bore, unless they have options available. So, make sure that they are Nissan/Infiniti standard at 66.01mm. If too small, they will not fit and if too large, like 72mm or so, then you will need to get centering rings to prevent excessive load on the lug nuts.

This is where the experts at Tire Rack can do a better job of making sure that the fitment is good!

These SSR GT-10 are on "Closeout" on tire rack. The 19x8 are real 3 piece Semi-forged lighter weight wheel for $399 each

Or these SSR GT3 19x8.5 real 3 piece Semi-forged are $479 each.

Thought 19" tires are a bit more than 20" tires ?!?!

Thank-you very much for your feedback. I emailed the seller on Ebay about the bore. The auction does state that hub rings are included in the auction. That's the same thing as centering caps, right?

I do plan to lower my car ASAP with Eibach's, if I can find them. szhosain, I do not want to roll my fenders, so so you think I should go with 38MM Offset with Eibach's? I see ppl on here with 40MM offsets on the same car and have not complained of any issues.

I HAVE to lower this car. Even with 20" wheels, there is TOO MUCH gap b/t tire and car.

I really do like SSR wheels. But in my opinion, they will NOT look right on a large car like the M45 and the way it is shaped. 5 Stars will probably look better on a sport compact. It needs something with more spokes to look right on this car.

Now I just have to decide on offset, and I will order. Please help!

I like those wheels and i have 20" wheels, the gap aint that bad. I like chrome i think it brings the classiness in a car....but only certain ones, but i think the polished look is nice also...just with the right size

Back from the dead.

I just picked up a bone stock '03. Have a line on some Tien S lowering springs and possibly some eibachs stashed from the past.

Going to run staggered...19 or 20 or a combo.

8" up front and 10" in the rear. Need help with the back spacing and offsets. Planning on a 5 star pattern as of now.

Couple of thoughts as to direction...

Blacking out the grill, window trip and trunk molding. Tail lights, head lights and blinkers getting smoked treatments. Limo tint.

Ripping out the exhaust from the 02 sensors back and installing some dynomax vt's and disconnecting the cable shut off.

Really need to find a trunk lip if someone knows where to look.

Thanks,
Jay

I just upgraded to 19 X 8.5 on my 09 M35. This is why:

I wanted 255's because i love the stance and added grip they provide. While the 255's will fit on an 8 inch wheel, they are a better fit with an 8.5 inch wheel. I also wanted a 19 inch wheel to help fill in the wheel well gap without the reduced ride quality that comes with lowering springs or coil-overs.
With the 19 X 8.5 (+40) wheels, I added 255/40/19 tires. The result was NO change in clearance for suspension or calipers, an increase in wheel well coverage, and the over-all height of the car increased by less than 1/2 inch (not a noticeable change, and no issues with handling, stability, or ride quality).

I bought the wheels and tires from Tire Rack - If you buy wheels / tires together Tire Rack will include new nuts, mount and balance the tires for free, add new TPMS to each wheel for about $150, and ship them 'ready to be installed' to your local tire shop in a couple days. Mine took 3-4 days to arrive at the tire shop and all they had to do was bolt them on and do an alignment. You will need to have the dealer activate the TPMS but I had that done whilst getting the oil / filter changed at my dealer. It was less than $100 for the oil change AND the activation if I remember correctly.

Jay,
I want to be rid of my original chrome wheels and get a set of 4 non-chrome OEM wheels. If the original wheels are not chrome, and you're somewhere on the East coast, I'll take them off your hands. Even if a little dinged up, I'll work out something with you.
