http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...79501 Sorry if this has been dicussed before but just recently the SSautochrome sr20 style stainless steel manifolds, now they are supposidly, made for ka24de. From the pic in the link it looks like a sr20 bolt pattern and bottom mounted turbo? Does anyone have ACTUAL expirience with this new style mani on their ka, or have seen it. I dont want to hear your gay uneducated ebay manifolds sucks stories. Ive heard they crack, oh well big deal nothing a welder cant solve, and if I cut the ports apart and weld in a few braces It should be fine. What im asking is can you take their bottom mount manifold, cut the base palte off, flip it to make it top mount. The ports look evenly spaced so I dont this itll be a problem. Thanks

I was wondering about that crap too. Looks like sr20 manifold. Looks truly fake to me though. Also, there is no external wastegate port.

they say its for 95+ S14 and S15 which would mean it has to be for the sr20 cuz the S15 doesnt come with KA and if it were for the KA it would include the 92+ S13

Im thinking its either a mistake, with the sr20 mani. Or it could be for ka but with wrong picture I emailed the fool, 2 times and havent got a reply yet. Anyway, if they really do make the same style but for ka id buy that beast flip the base plate over, weld in a ext wategate flange, and baaaaaam, there you have your self a nice supposidly, equal lengh mani, for like 250, not bad man.

search this forum on it, two threads in the past month, they do make sepecific top mount external wastegate tubular stainless ka24DE manifolds.they have a lifetime guarantee on cracks.there have been several "prototypes" up on ebay recently. the finished manifold should be under 400.that manifold does not look like the same manifold as the KA manifold, it had the turbo/wastegate flange in the center of the manifold, not offset like that one it. its designed to replace the revhard manifold, I believe.

that's an sr manifold. it doesn't say KA anywhere on that page, so why assume otherwise?

The ssAutochrome manifold for the KA is still in the prototype phase. I'm test fitting the manifolds for this company and the next prototype is due to arrive in about a week or so. Once everything checks out, it'll go into production. I'm not here to advertise, but there will be a group buy for them BEFORE they are released to the public. If anybody wants inf concerning this manifold you can email me directly at [email protected].

Here is a few pics of the PROTOTYPE. There will be changes made to the manifold before it's released.

i can tell you those manifolds are crap made in taiwan with cheap stainless steel, even with a lifetime warranty on it its not worth having because youll end up taking it out a dozen times to get it fixed. you want to go right the 1st time or do it 10 or 20 times over and oever again ?

Let's not make hasty judgements about something just because it doesn't cost $900. The WRX community loves the manifolds made by the same company for them. If it's really got a lifetime warranty against cracking it may be worth a try.

i don't care if you spend $100 or $1000, almost all stainless steel equal length manifolds crack over time. and because of their price, obx, ssaotuchrome and a few other companies that offer ss manifolds on ebay have become very popular. some people have used them with great success, and some people haven't been quite so lucky. i'm one of those guys who would spend a few less pennies for an ss manifold, and just repair it if/when the time comes.

im gonna end up trying one for only two and some change. if you brace these things to take all the weight off it will prevent cracking. this is the reason why these manis crack. the tubing is too thin and cant hold the weight of the turbo. im just gonna weld a steel piece on the turbo flange and have it come down somewhere and bolt on the block. im gonna boost the 240 for less than a grand. so this mani is in my budget. and yes i have heard many many stories over on honda-tech about these things. but i havent heard anything about the braced ones cracking.

The final product will already have a brace from the head flange to the turbo flange. This will help give support to aid in preventing cracking.

The one on my car already has it done to it.

Right now the final product cost has not been set because the manifold is still in the development stage. But it looks like it will end up selling for $325~$350 shipped anywhere inside the US. That includes all the hardware and gaskets too.

god damn thats $100 more than the sr20 ones. why is that? because theyre just coming out and price will drop? or theyre in such high demand that they know people will pay that much. hmm

keep in mind, sr manifolds are a dime a dozen, so the prices will always be low to be competitive.

$350 is a very good price for a stainless steel equal length manifold.
