Ok guys. I'm wondering what the Q45 would look like when painted a bright Lexus 430 Red.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...sting

I really like that color. I have seen it on a few 240s.

What do you guys think of it?

Does anyone know how to add a shine in PhotoShop?

I know that I should get my Q running before I think about anything like this, but I'm just wondering.

A repaint that would be anywhere semi-decent would be 3500-5000..

Good repaints are expensive the $200 Maaco jobs are abosultetly terrible.

Bad idea. Hard to get a paint job anywhere near as good as factory, since environmental regulations back then were looser.

Plus come on, cherry red? I should kick your ***!

You planning on removing all the glass, trim, interior, weatherstrip, hood, trunk, doors, door handles?

Unless you are, a "color change" repaint will ALWAYS be evident and will render the car no better than a "salvage" ride.

I was thinking about getting a few things shaved. Possibly the Q45 on the trunk, delete the fender trim, and get rid of the grey trim that goes along the bottom of the body panels.

There is a guy that lives by me that owns a Q45. He got it repainted in a very nice bright shiny white. IMO, it looks way better than the factory white colors. He took it to one of the High performance vehicle body shops in St. Petersburg. I inspected the paint job thouroughly. There were absolutely no signs that it was repainted. They actually lifted the engine and painted the engine compartment. He said they used 6 layers of clear coat. It looked really amazing. I think he said it cost him between $5k~6k.

What do you guys think about repaainting in a Bright shade of Pepsi Blue. I've seen that on a car before and it looked pretty good.

ya, that is alot of money. It had a grill so it was a 94+.

I talked to him when I was at Walmart. I would have taken pictures, but I don't normally carry a camera around with me. I'll try to take pictures the next time I see him.

one thing ive been thinking about, the pewter from the fx45 on a J30 with black leather interior.

car would have to be painted while the interior and engine were removed for best results.

I'd like to see the Liquid Copper on a J.

Or the (damn I can't remember the color now...) anyway, that real awesome brown from the FX45 on a 94-96 Q. Hot.

That Liquid Copper is a hot color. I saw it at the dealer and I said Damn, that would look on a G! I hope they do that.
