ok im not too knowledgable on mods and what to do when to do it etc. im going to get intake first but do i need to do the catback exhaust right after that? or is there something else i should do? i want to change the spark plugs and wires too. so should i change the plugs before exhaust or not? what is a good quality header for the ka24de and what kind of gains would i see with that? should i do the cat back exhaust before the header? and last, what do you think about the unorthodox racing crank pulley? is it worth buying and should i do that before exhaust? thats about all i can think of. im sure you guys get these questions alot and normally i would search but my schedule is so hectic now i dont have time to look. im gonna have barely any time to do the installs.

note- basically exhaust is going to be really expensive and i want to do as much as i can to add the most power before i need to get the exhaust. im considering turbo... and i will be make my decision before i get the header.

turbo usually isnt something u just consider. getting together your shyte for a turbo ka is gonna be far more than all the other mods listed. if u decide to go turbo, research it and start gathering parts, you would be surprised at how much stuff there is. i was, and im only looking at a CA swap. its all about gauges, IC, piping, fuel computer, bov, hoses, etc. . . about the other stuff: if u want to stay KA, hotshot seems to be the best header. intake also a good mod (toss up b/w injen and aem) but then again, if u are planning on turbo . . .about the pulley, i dont know much about its effects (good and bad) so ill let someone else cover that... hope it helped some.-Enzo

Before you jump into all these mods get your car running good...NGK plugs, NGK wires, check your cap/rotor. Oil change, O2 sensor, transmission fluid...etc...Get all this done, and get more familiar with your car and then you'll have a better idea of what you want...

I/H/E are great mods because usually they will increase engine efficiency at the same time...I'd probably get intake first becaust you might need a new filter anyways, then exhaust then headers...

this is really helpin me out... so basically intake first. i found an injen on ebay brand new for $188 with free shipping. so i may hop on that. and then ill probably do plugs and wires. ive heard it pretty much rejuvinates your motor and with 120k miles i could use it. from what the mechanic said its like it hasnt hit 100k miles yet. he said its in great shape and i trust him cause im good friends with his daughter. im not too sure if i wnat to invest in the turbo or not. id like to but at the same time im worried about the motor. basically i wanna get the car around 13-14 and i think turbos the easiest way. but i want the car to be a sleeper. i dont want you to hear a bov or see an ic. so what would you do to a ka24de to get it to run a 13-14 in the quarter n/a? i figured itll have to be all internal and cost a lot.

well it's really just like WongFeiHung said, get the complete tuneup done first, get the fluids changed and going through your car finding parts that need replacement. When I first got my car, it went through the following tuneup and parts:

mobile 1 10w30Bosch O2 sensorNGK IX Iridium spark plugs (PDM)Aurora Ignition Wires (PDM)Distributor Cap and Rotor (Courtesy Parts)Motul 90 PA LSD oil (PDM)Castrol ATF (local store) <--gear oil for your transmission for your MT if you've an MTPrestone coolant with Alhambra distilled water (local store) in a 50/50 ratio note: some brands of distilled water adds salt after distillation process which can corrode aluminum and causes deposits.ATE super blue brake fluid (evolution sports)axxis metal masters (heavythrottle)brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors (shop in socal but forgot name)dust boots on steering rack (local dealership)brake seals both front and back (courtesy parts)tension rod bushings (PDM)redtop optima battery (local shop)

so yeah there you go with what I replaced when I got my car. There were a few things that happened shortly thereafter like a new radiator, water pump, radiator hoses, alternator, and the dreaded timing chain but runs like a champ.

Then went in the aftermarket parts like exhaust, intake, and now the SR. Originally I had thought I'd go SR right away, but didn't turn out that way as I kept finding more problems along the way and didn't have enough for the SR. I'm glad I went that route though as my car's been running very well for a while with no headaches. Might want to get everything up to tip top before messing with a turbo.

i sent it in for a 120k mile tune up and they said it was in great shape... idk what all was checked in that but they said the motors fine. the sr would be nice but ive heard its possible to get the same amount of power for less $$ with the ka. i read about a guy getting a turbo on his ka for under 1500 and puttin about 225rwhp down on the dyno.
