All "rehabilitated" injectors are used injectors.

Go with new from http://www.infinitipartsusa.com

Same as alternators.

Except some people actually know how to fix them... Just like all alternators are technically used alternators with new insides (same idea wiht injectors) Ive yet to hear of a bad injcetor from deatsch, and that includes the 240 guys which use Q45 injectors!

Different colours usually identify different flow rates for the same sized injectors.....

Spray pattern or something. I've mixed and matched colors with no ill effects.

The Injector Report I've posted below from DeatschWerks will show you what they do to make sure your injectors will work properly in your Q. In my case I sent in a set of 8 injectors which I purchased from JazzMan. I ohmed them prior to sending them in and knew that onewas on its way to being dead and the other 7 were in range.

The first thing DeatschWerks does when they recieve the FI is to ohm them. If any are out of spec they will not waste your money cleaning them ($19/ea?) since sonic cleaning of the fuel path does nothing to change the electrical resistance of the injector. After cleaning they are bench tested as a set (I opted not to purchase an 8th injector) and this report is generated.

As you can see from the report, the 7 injectors I ended up with are within 1.1% of having balanced flow and ohming with 0.2 ohms variance. I'm not sure that you could get this close even with a set of 8 new injectors. What DeutschWerks would like to see is for you install a set of 8 balanced injectors and they would have sold me one from their stock that ohmed and flowed the same as my set.

The reality is I'll use them one at a time as I need them. I'm sure they've got a shorter life than a new one but removing the plenum gets easier every time. I've got 2 in my Q now and it's purring like a kitten. (I have a couple extra I can sell if anyone needs one or two.)

The real driver for me is cost. One new injector with o-rings will be close to $200 from Joe. I bought a whole set used in the fuel rail for $200 and had 7 of them refurbished for <$20/ea. They come with a new pintle cap and orings installed. Or you can forego the hassles, and the chance of buying FI in the rail that may have more than one or two out of spec, and buy them for a bit more $$ direct from DeatschWerks.

I was very impressed with DeatschWerks' service and recieved a personal call from Dave Deatsch telling me the results of the test. The injectors are working fine and my Q has never run better.

BTW- Thanks to Jesda for getting me set up with a picture gallery in Q45.org so I can now put pics in my posts. For all us that are computer challenged, now that I've posted my first pic it was really pretty easy

Note the 0.696 density [specific gravity] at 25C of the test fluid is thinner than gasoline [0.737] and thus the 11% higher max flow.......than the 370cc spec.

Nice to know 100% rate, however a 5% rate [1.5ms] and a 60% rate [10-11msec] are the real world conditions underwhich the injector functions in the Q.

The equal resistance and the equal flow at 100% are usually good indicators of partial duty cycle............anyway the O2 should fix bank to bank averages at cruise.

Perhaps these guys really are different! My experience with remans left me with a bleed-down issue that caused hard starts after a hot soak. This was back in 1998 or 1999 from an outfit called Python Injecton. It's nice to see so many members have some success with an option that's much less expensive.

Bleed down is easy to check prior to installation just get a rail and use your BG pressure tank to pressurize tank with air use BG44k as the liquid.

Leaks are pretty obvious.

Never seen a Q45 injector that leaks thru pintle unless the pintel was dirty, scoring the valve and wearing the channel out.

Anytime you use a non brand new part, it is a good idea to totally test it prior to any install that requires lots of labor.

10 year old in warehhouse brand new parts are NOT BRAND NEW so even certain dealer parts should be tested or at least insected closely prior to comitting lots of time.

Well then, I suppose they would flow more fuel if the fuel pump could supply the required pressure and volume.

Seems simple, no?

The oem Q pump is 255 liters per hour /3.7= 69 gallons x6= 413 pounds enough for 800 HP.................at 43.5 psi.

In order for the return regulator system to work the pump must have double the capacity at minimum.

Where people get in trouble is not understanding that if you raise the delivered pressure the volume and reliability go way down.

So you need to size injectors to fit with 43.5 psi...............this gets difficult beyond 375- 400HP if a low rpm idle is desired.

Just as a V8 has 8 cylinders whose optimum sizes are less than 600 cc each they rarely work well with larger than 370cc individual injectors.

Sure you can buy 460cc or 500 or 550cc units they just provide a crappy idle.

Even the Q reduces psi to 34 at idle and cruise to provide a 12% reduction in flow for the same opening time.............proving even 370cc is just a tad too big for ideal.....................also help longevity of fuel pump as it needs to create less backpressure...............90% of the time.

Why then have so many variations for the Q?
