On ebay, the NISMO short shifter sells about the half the price of B&M one.

Does any one use the nismo one? What is your take on the nismo short shifter?

The genuine Nismo isn't a short shifter, it's a solid shifter. Personally I like my C's although the B&M is cool too.

Courtesy Nissan a while back when they were cleaning up their warehouse. Found it in their Nissan Motorsports catalog and ordered it that way. Don't know if they've got any more though.

i love my b&m. some people ***** about the SLIGHT rattle it makes at higher rpms but the feel of shift makes it all worthwhile. you cant really hear it anyway if you have the radio up/windows down.

Thanks!

Besides the noise and rattling, for what other reasons do you use the B&M?Does other cheaper brands breaks up easily?

What is "solid shifter" BTW?

i love my b&m not only because it makes a shorter shift, but it just has a much better feeling to it when you shift. it feels more solid and more comfortable. i just love going WOT and slamming it into second. it takes a little getting used to at first because it feels different, but once you get used to it you wont ever want to see a stock shifter again.

solid just means no rubber and this and that to make it feel wobbly. B&M's are good stuff, but there is a whirr, even with the newer revisions. After driving my C's and my buddy's B&M, although the B&M is shorter at gear 3 and 4 most notably, the easier install and no noise was what made me choose the C's. You can probably find them on ebay if you're patient.

Regardless of which one you choose, you probably won't want to go back to your stock shifter though. The short shifters from C's and B&M are seriously worth the money in your sock under your bed.

how is the install different on the C's compared to the b&m? it's replaceing the same part, i dont see how it could be different. dissassembling the stock shifter is obviously the same, so wouldnt installing the new one be the same?

The B&M you gotta take the plate thing that has the hole for the shifter off. If you've got big hands, it can be a pita. Even with small hands, it's a pain in the butt.
