Nice paint job on the timing cover!

Is that a t3/t4? Xspower? SSautochrome topmount manifold?

GTR 440 injectors?

What are you using to control it all... Safc? Emanage?...

Looks great! Let's have some more details!

yeah... I've heard pretty bad things about the xspower turbos. Like the compressor housings are epoxied togther and have a tendancy to split open.... But, i guess there customer service is pretty good... they are very willing to replace or refund if requested.

I'd be real curious to hear how nomenai does with his.

I'm getting an SSautocrap manifold. I have a buddy who welds. He said that with some bracing and a little more attention to the existing welds, I should be able to get good service from it. For $125 shipped and some cash to him for his time on the welder, it's worth a try I think.

I have a friend who has an XS Power .70 turbo on his B16 running 16 psi. And thier turbo manifold and dump pipe. Has been running the setup for 2 years with out a single problem. I also have the same setup on my RB25 but it isn't put back togehter yet so no R&D from me.

It is funny how 100 people can see one flawed turbo posted on one site, tell all their friends, and they tell all their friends, then all of a sudden all that companies stuff is junk. If someone bought a Tial wastegate that malfunctioned from the factory, would you all quit buying their stuff? If someones Greddy intake manifold cracked would that mean Greddy make crappy parts?

I do believe that the welds and the metal they use to make their turbomanifolds isn't the greatest. But I took and added a piece of 1/2 SS roundstock from the Headflange to the truboflange on mine just to be sure it would support the weight of the turbo without cracking.

Seams like the Supra/Lexus guys run the cheap manifolds and I haven't seen many of the fail. I think the bad reputation of the manifolds comes for the hondas since they only use 4 runners with the turbo hanging under them. The 6cyl topmounts seem to be able to take the weight of the turbo better. But if you can make a brace from the cam cover to the turbo and take some weight off the manifold I don't think you will have any problems.

I personally know a guy who had a xs power turbo, who's compressor housing fell off.He had it on a 96 camaro 3.8 V6 turbo conversion. The car ran for a week, not even hard because he had just finished it. Then on the way to school, it fell off trashed his compressor and i think shaft as well.Test it if you wish, but unless they have changed compressor housing manufacturers I would just Piss in my own gas tank :-)

I also have a close friend with a turbo prelude, he is on his 5th turbo from SSAC. They go bad in about 2-months, so he just sends them back and gets a new one.

This last one, however, sent metal from the compessor wheel/housing through his TB and intake manifold, so he is extra pissed
