What do you love most about your EX35 ? What makes you smile about this car?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I know there's a post that ask you what you don't like about your EX35.

But now after driving it for a while or even a few hours or days, What's your favorite experience or feature about the EX35? What makes you smile about your car?

Well, I hope you say something more specific than saying "I love everything about it". Thanks for sharing.

-----------

Me = I love how easy it is to slide the transmission from "D" to "DS" and step on the gas, and it just pulls and pulls and leaves other cars in the dust.

I love the looks of the EX. Every time I look at it I think "What a great looking car!". IMHO, there are very few cars on the road that look as sharp. I loved the looks of the car from the moment I saw it. Once I sat in it, the deal was sealed!!!

I also love opening the sunroof, sliding the gear shift into DS, pressing down hard on the gas and watching the cars behind me disappear, while listening to the intoxicating sound of the exhaust.

I could go on, but it would take pages!

I agree the acceleration is great, as well as the sound of the exhaust and engine when it gets around 4/5000rpm and up. However, all I hear when I have the sunroof open when the car is moving is the wind whipping against that damn windshield.lol

Anyway I would have to say this car may have the best combination of luxury and comfort inside along with performance and looks outside for the price. I love the way the car looks from the front quarter view, the headlight shape looks great along with the 18in rim design(some of the nicest stock rims I have seen). Its great the way it pulls like a sports car in 1st and 2nd gears while carrying 2 tons and having a hatchback and AWD. It has one of the best looking Nav software interfaces that I have seen. The bluetooth works flawlessly...whoops you said the ONE thing I love most.

It would have to be having a sports cars demeanor with the convenience of a stationwagon.

Being an Audi fan, this car is wicked. It goes head to head with other sports car.

Since the last few posts of mine have been more negative than positive, I thought I would post some of what makes me smile about my EX35. I still love the car, even with its warts. Here's a list of my likes:

1. Very well balanced handling for a small SUV2. High quality, well thought out interior design (except back seat area and storage)3. Great looks parked and on the road4. Lovely motor - sounds good and feels good under acceleration5. Very tight turning radius6. Nice seating position, placed well above the road - don't feel like I'm sitting in a tiny car waiting to be squished on the freeway7. Blue Slate paint is very pretty and well applied8. Sound system is awesome9 Nav system is very good, but it should be allowed to work while on the road10 Sonar and rear view camera are excellent 11. Auto rear seat down is nice12. Dealership experience is superb13. Distinctive design sets you apart from the crowds on the road 14 Seats are very comfortable for longer drives

Yes, I have some gripes too. But that's another thread.CheersRandy

Well, I can't believe this thread's been up 6 days and nobody has mentioned AVM!!! It is by FAR the most unique useful feature of this car.

I'm picking up an EX tomorrow with AVM, but I don't see how it will be useful other than the rear view portion. Can you tell us how you typically use it?

It's nice for checking your position in a parking stall, to make sure you aren't crowding one side or hanging too far over the back line. Polite parking..

I use the AVM (front & side views in addition to rear) when pulling into/out of parking spots, to check whether I'm going to hit cars, poles, etc. Or for parallel parking to see how close to the curb and other cars I am. Or when maneuvering through a cluttered area to make sure my car will fit. Lots of times I would've normally made a 5-point turn in a narrow area, but with AVM I can see when just a 3-point turn will work.

Me too for all of the above...

I just wish that I could have more control of what Camera View was in the Big Screen View.

I should be able to activate any Camera I want, at any time, until the speed of my vehicle cuts them out.

Well, the No. 1 thing has to be the driving dynamics. The combination of the engine, steering and suspension are world-class for this size/style of vehicle.

But, I knew that going in...which is why I got the car.

However, what continues to surprise me the more I use it is the user interface for all of the Nav, Music, Phone, Settings, etc. I keep finding another cool thing everytime I try something new.

For instance, this week while driving around to prospective colleges with my son, we entered our destinations in the Nav. We also wanted to see what songs were playing, etc, so we used the "Status" screen, split with audio on top and Nav on bottom. Then my son pressed the "voice" button next to the round controller just on a lark. (I had pressed it once before, thinking it controlled the voice feedback volume, but nothing happened, so I just left it alone.) Well, we found out that when you are on an active route, and press that button, the voice prompt tells you what your next turn is and how far away it is! Since I have shut off the regular voice prompts on Nav (hate having the music fade in and out just for a turn, and I can pay attention to the turns on the screen), I now find this invaluable - a stupid little button!

Another surprise - the turn list view not only showed the upcoming turns, but since we were on an interstate, also showed the distance to the next rest area if one was on our route - unasked. How cool is that?

Haven't even played with all the maintenance, fuel economy, etc. - can't imagine what surprises await me there.

The flexibility and usabilty of the user interface is better than any others I have tried or have lived with - Lexus, Acura, Audi, BMW, Mercedes - kudos to Nissan/Infiniti for figuring this out!!

^ This one of the things my wife and I love about this car. The technology works together seemlessly! Everything works well, all the time.

We like the performance the car offers as well. It delivers smooth power when you need it. The DS mode makes driving all the more fun

When you want to go, it goes, and fast. When you want to stop, it stops, and quickly. And along the way the driving dynamics are outstanding. Add to that, the car provides a very comfortable ride and superb luxury features.

Just a great all around package!
