looks about the same build as me, except I haven't touched the internals yet. I'd say just try and stick with the stock log exhaust manifold and get the downpipe modified to suit and hit the dyno after the break in period.

Don't insult the stock manifold, it's not a log... :). Quite contrary, it's almost a twin-scroll.

yea, the stock mani is a pretty good design. IMHO, when I switched from the stock manifold the the tubular manifold, I LOST power, spool, driveability. I hated my tubular manifold compared to the stock.

i wasn't disin' it, but it does look kind of like a log lol I too am switching back. I never really drove it with it on so with a bigger turbo and the stock manifold, I'm quite excited!

dalaz - from what I've seen/read/researched, just under 300whp with this setup but I could be wrong.

the stock manifold is stayin around. it actually been ceramic coated so it looks all pretty too...

yeah i hope it does well...been wondering if i should just start my build thread at this point...

i actually spent the day cleaning all the damn bolts for this thing...lol...least awesome part of a build...but probably one of the most neccessary...

Oh no, you'll be in the 275hp range to the wheels pretty easily with that turbo.

is that mazing it out or something else restricting me?
if 275 is it mazed out, ill probably set it to 250 for safety...lol

No, I would say 275 is around the safe limit. You MIGHT be able to squeeze 300hp to the wheels out of it, but THAT would be pushing it.

im happy with 275 if i get it there...

stock should be fine. You won't be running more than 18psi. It MIGHT spool a little quicker with the HKS actuator, but IIRC, you can't run LESS than 14.7 psi with it.

yeah i dont know anything...lol...as most of my post will show...i was planning on just runnning 1 bar...but i didnt/dont know if that would max out the turbo...or anything else ive switch over too...how high of boost would 275 put me at?

last thing im tryin to do is max it all out, tryin to keep it sane to help it live longer...lol

stock wastegate is 7psi correct? I've probably asked that numerous times but only have gotten an answer of 10psi. Just looking for another to confirm..

thats what im wondering...and if thats the case, does my boost controller somehow change that, or do i need a higher level WG to get it to go higher?

IIRC, stock is 7psi on an S15 T28. Yes, the boost controller will allow you to increase the boost pressure ABOVE the wastegate pressure.

and theres the piece of information i needed clarification on...

i was also thinking of maybe selling my HKS EVC-S for a dual solinoid boost controller, ive been told that the dual solinoid system helps prevent boost creep...any .02's on that? if its true, shoul di even worry about it and any recomendations on a new boost controller...?

the Apexi AVC-R is supposed to be really good, but I really think the HKS EVC-S is up to the task.

ive actually been debating to wether keep the s15 t28, or sell it, and buying a T2871R...thoughts on this? anyone know what a new S15 t28 goes for? lol

this is what i have http://www.240sxmotoring.com/oemsis15srt2.html

this is what i was plannin on getting http://www.frsport.com/Garrett-GT2871R- ... _2311.html

thoughts?

the thing is this car is going to be used mainly for drifting, and some time laps, just wondering if lag would be crazy at that point...?

I did this upgrade last year, t28>T2871r .64

I love it as it went on a pure drift car, the setup complimented the mid-high rpm nature of my driving style on the track.

You will hate anything under 3000rpm. There is no power at all, NOTHING. I did remove my butterflies so not a real shocker its gutless in the low rpm.

Yea, if you daily the car at all, keep the S15 T28 and the stock manifold.

As for the boost controller, you won't have any boost creep problems with that turbo, so don't worry about it. If you have a boost controller now, keep it, it will do what you want it to.

nah car is track only, towed to events...

awesome... i guess ill stick with what i have, my worries are less wiht the fact that both the turbo and EVC-s are both BNIB :chuckle:
