What do you guys think of this turbo manifold?

the welds are good, but the design is ugly and no where near equal length. The wastegate flange isn't placed in a central location, so you will have some reversion when it opens. Looks like a pretty good home made one or a not so great commercial one.

I posted this on 240sx forums earlier ...

Well, it looks like a lot of work went into that. But it's not an equal length manifold as the two inner runners are shorter than the outers. I must agree about the wastegate flange location though ... not good. Seems to me that the design was aimed at accomodating more area under the hood by making the manifold as flat as possible. Really, if you build (or have built for you) a custom turbo exhaust manifold, I personally would choose an equal length runner design. Ceramic coat that manifold and it will definitely look and perform better. Finally, who cares really ... put that bad boy on and go hunting!! :)

I guess overall what I'm thinking is that it'll work. It'll do he job. I'm sure that it's a far from perfect design, but fmax's manifolds on hondas are similar in their placement of the wastegate flange and those seem to work fairly well. Should be good enough for the 8lbs or so of boost that I'm after :-) Now for the pinwheel

That wastegate location is horrible, but at least the collectors are joined evenly with no cracks.

actually, the wg location isnt that bad at all. look at the second pic closer of the inside of the collector. you can see just a corner of the wg opening right in the area of the collector. itll definately get the job done. ive seen way worse perform flawless (my pos drop shop log mani i had on the lude). with the design of the runners (prob made for optimal space), where else can you place it? i think this mani is a really decent design. it just looks like a few turds stuck together.
