Im still looking for a 300zx, and I was wondering what you guys thought of this buy? I talked him down from 3700 to 2800. He says that it will need a new motor and I was wondering how much you guys think that would cost me. N/A VG motors are going for pretty cheap right? I was also thinking about converting it from automatic to manual while the motor is out and everything? All and all how much would you guys say I would have to put out after I actually buy the car for the new motor and transmission?

not bad, why does it need a new motor at 135,000 miles?

i think you could talk him down a little more. i bought mine for 3000 but thats with an amazing interior and body but it did need a new engine. Thats what he was asking and we didn't talk him down at all.

if you're willing to put the extra time and money into it for the motor/transmission then it sounds like a good deal.. it looks fairly clean and the suspension upgrades arent bad

nghtrain88, around how much do you think a new transmission and engine would cost? Im not really worried about how long it will take to put in, im still in high school and i have a whole summer to blow lol. if i bought the car at 2800 i would have about 2500 to play with after, do you think that would be good enough for a transmission and engine?

A new transmission and engine, dang after all is said and done you'll be easily in the 4500's for Labor and parts.

depends if you'll be doin the work yourself or not also.. i havent done an engine swap yet so i probably would be best to ask.. i know you can buy cheap used motors for under a grand or spend several thousand just for the motor alone.. also depends if your upgrading to a tt..

wouldn't*

Perfect candidate for a TT swap.

Go for it, price seems good.

How is it that a car that doesn't run could possibly be worth nearly $3000? I mean, knowing that the engine is toast, how is it worth $3K? Crap, go to a junkyard and you can build a complete running competitive car for less than that...

Sorry.

I love my Z32, but I seriously doubt that I would pay $3000 for a car that had a blown motor. It would have to be a car that I was going to restore before I paid that much for a husk.

Yeah i would be doing all the work myself with my moms friend in his garage, so there would be no labor costs involved. I am going to take a look at the car Saturday, how much would you guys hold out for? As for the TT swap im pretty sure im gonna hold off on that. I would deffinitely like to but I dont think i have the money right now and i think it would be better to own a N/A first before a twin turbo.
