I think there will be a lot of lag with a stage 3 turbine.

I just put mine up on Ebay - it's exactely what you need for a 300HP setup.

I run a T3/T04E with a .63A/R turbine housing and .76 trim (Stg. 3, T-31) turbine wheel. I get full boost by about 3600rpm. Not really all that laggy, IMO.

In all honesty, man, the specs you posted give us nothing. The compressor housing A/R seems fine, but what are the specs on the wheel? That's the important determining factor in efficiency and such. Find out more info if you can.

Also, I think the best thing you could buy is Edub's turbo. It's a freshly rebuilt (0 miles) T3/T04E. It's a good solid unit, not some aftermarket turd.

edub:I looked at your turbo, I noticed that it has a stage 1 wheel. what is the difference between the stg. 1 and stg. 3?From what I read the 50 trim with stg. 3 is the turbo of choice.

Stage III turbine wheels have a larger diameter than a stage I wheel for the same a/r turbine housing, so if the a/r is to remain consistent on the turbine, physically the turbine would be larger with a stage III wheel versus stage I.

And I don't think .63 a/r turbine with a stage III wheel will be laggy at all...IIRC, it's what fiznat was using on his KA-T and he loved it...it's also what I'll be using, once the damn thing arrives...

Agreed, but go with the Garrett not the knock-off. Also, I have the flange for sale whenever you are ready to start making your DP.

I also ran the T3/T)4E 50 trim with a .63 AR exhaust housing and stg III wheel. Anyone who thinks that is laggy has never driven a car with actual lag. When I switched over to a full frame T4 with a .81 AR exhaust housing and stgIII wheel, I would have maybe 6 psi will 4800-5000 rpm. Then she would flash spool and jump to 20 psi by 5500-5700.

That is a laggy turbo.

Well, I've decided to run a T3 super 60 / .63 stage 1 - I understand these are insta-boost.

I think it's safe to say that the stage 1 will spool a bit sooner than the satge 3 though. And, I think the stage 3 guys are into high, 400+ HP where there might be a flow issue. I wouldn't think a guy looking for 300HP would run into flow issues with the satge 1.

Anyway, it's up on ebay so act fast if you want it.

It would depend on if it were .48 or .63, but since the topic is the .63 then I would say there would not be any issue for a lower number like that. In fact, that is what I will be running for about that power level.
