What do you guys think? Blown motor? blown turbo?

I need some information, im still pretty new to the SR and Turboed cars So i need some advice on what to look at.

So i was drifting late at night when i was cruising i was noticing a chattering sound while on the throttle. The car would do it at around 3000 rpms, i did not rev pass that and just drove it home. Im not really sure what to look at but i think the turbo is blown. the car does not make any chattering noises at startup or at idle, just at around 3krpms is when it makes the noises. Also while the car is running there is a vaccuum reading so i hope that helps you determining what that noise is it also does sound like its coming near the turbo side, i never took off a turbo nor am i sure on what the process is besides unbolting or what im looking for. if someone can guide me through a list of what to check that would be fantastic.

Whenever you hear a chattering at an exact RPM one of the primary suspects is the exhaust system. It could be a bolt broken off and a manifold/dp rubbing at a certain RPM, or heat shields chattering because the harmonic resonation occurs at that RPM.

I would get someone to run it at 3k while you try to pinpoint the source of the sound

Is it a rattling noise or knocking noise?

its more like a clunking sound, like i threw a rock into the turbo and its flopping around. When i goto 3k there is noo boost whatsoever, so do you think turbo? or something loose

Well if your not making boost then wouldnt that kind of give you a clue?

well yea, i wouldve thought that, but when theres vaccuum, doesnt that mean something is going on? or doesnt mean anything regarding the turbo

vaccuum has nothing to do with the turbo. vaccuum is the engine sucking in air. (check wikipedia or how things work for a diagram)
