*****+STILLEN EXHAUST RR SECT INFINITI Q45 97-01

STILLEN's Exhaust Systems are built for power. Power that you can feel across the power band with a big gain on top. Mileage gains during highway travel can be expected as you cruise at steady speeds. The free flowing performance Mufflers themselves are aluminized or stainless steel for long life. This fit and finish are second to none. The improved airflow created by addition of the exhaust is verified by the significant dyno HP increase. Adding the STILLEN Exhaust to your vehicle is a must. Actual product may vary slightly from image.

Part Number: 506895

MSRP: $632.94Our Price: $249.00

I'm guessing this might net a 10 hp increase?

:)

Decent price, but I'd like to see dual tips...

Can't go wrong for $250.

I called Stillen and they claim it gives an extra 6-8 hp. Along with the Pop Charger they sell for my car (another 6-8 hp, $179), I'd be running about 280 hp. :) Now I gotta find somebody to put it on for me as I doubt I can do it myself. I installed faux-Xenon headlights on my car and that was an adventure in and of itself (although not too difficult and the stronger headlights are great).

As far as I can tell, that is about it for performance upgrades on my car - at least not without shelling out big bucks for a radical supercharger or something like that. :D

I guess I could do what the ricer boys do and paint Japanese lettering on my car. I bet it would go really fast then. :)

Save your money on the PopCharger.

Do a search in Infiniti General for K&N and you'll see why, especially in Phoenix.

My friend Terry (Tgvince) is working on a CAI system for the 97-01, and he lives right here in Phx. Should be done real soon, and I trust his dyno testing a lot more than the advertised #'s from the "popcharger".

Hey Don -I actually have this muffler on my 98Q. Stillen told me the same thing about HP increase, but honestly not sure if I can tell. I can say that it gives the car a nice little humm under throttle - me being a motorcycle racer...gotta have the humm when opening it up. I've had it for almost a year - still as shiny as the day I got it. As far as putting it on, it's extremely easy...directions were perfect, slip the old one off and slip the new one on. Oh yeah, I would like dual tips also - I am beginning to get the itch and will probably go somewhere and have them put on dual tips...

Hey Chaz, do you get an humm when your just cruising, or only when you nail it? I would like some extra pony but I will not sacrifice the quiet highway ride.

BTW, I just did the rims and tires on my 97, 17X8's with Yoko ES100 245/45 17 tires and that made a huge diff in handling, but it is a bit rougher now on the highway.

Don't assume that adding product x to product y will be truely additive.

6+6 doesn't equal 12 when they occur at different rpms.......sometimes K&N can equal minus 12 or minus 20 HP as once the 2-3-4 HP gain is used up by 11F-20F warmer air its all down hill fast.

BADQ45t,no humm at cruising - still very quiet. My friends always comment how quiet the Q is when we are riding around...even one that drives an '01 CLK 430. So, would you recommend upgrading to 17's with the YOKO ES100's - that's what I've been lookin' at as my next upgrade...and I am an aggressive driver.

Cool, I'm going to have to do that upgrade.

Yes, I'd recommend the upgrade for sure. Keep in mind if you're on the 60 series tires that you ride will be a bit rougher but after 500 miles I love the change. The side walls are so much stiffer that you can throw the car much harder into turns and no more tire squeeling. Even my wife said that the car feels much more stable.

I keep waiting for the Tokiko folks to make some Tokiko blues for this car already and I'll upgrade the shocks and springs.

Hmmmm....may have to do this upgrade too

Is it available for a 90 Q? If so, the way you described the sound is exactly what I'm looking for. Quiet but powerful. :)

BADQ45t - I currently have 225/55/16 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's - which I absolutely love. I do get the tires squeeling pretty much everyday and I will be glad to have the Q hookin' up more. I have 2 friends with 740's that have 245's and they handle really well. Do you have a picture of the 17's on your Q? I am looking at different styles...I think I want the 'standard' 5-6 spoke rims. My local Infiniti service mgr - my neighbor - says he can get me the G35 17's for about $400. I've got almost 60k on my Q - and I am beginnign to think about changing the shocks, springs, etc - I am trying to wait for the Tokiko blues for the 2nd gen. also...
