hey i have a bit before my oil first oil change but what do you all use in your G35? in the 300zx i used mobil 1 10w 30 full syn. but what are you guys using and whats the mileage u change at? or is it reg. 3000 miles?

If you are still breaking in the engine I would wait til you get to around 7500 miles. If you are past that point most of us really like Royal Purple. Its all expensive now...

The recommended service interval is 3750 miles. I change mine anywhere from 3000-5000 depending on the type of driving I've been doing. A lot of long distance and I lean closer to the 5000 mark.

The first oil change it wont matter what you put in as it will only be used for a few hundred miles. You should do the 1st oil change at around 800- 1200 miles. After you hit around 2500 - 3000, change again using a good synthetic (I use Royal Purple). A good synthetic will last about 5k miles or 4 months.

Mobil 1 is not a true synthetic...it's a blend. The only "true" synthetics are Royal Purple and Amisol.

Amsoil, Royal Purple, Motul, and there are a few others, but it's harder to find which ones are which. German Castrol Syntec(?) also comes to mind.

It is best to do some research regarding the oil you buy to find out what is actually in it. Seems that there are some rumors (or truths) about amsoil using API Group III basestocks which would make the oil the same as Mobil 1.

I've used mobile 1 and Royal Purple 10w-30.... im sticking to Royal Purple as my engine loves it!
