what do you guys do for tires. I have tires that have cracks in between the treads. Car sat for a while before I bought it so I am going to replace. this is a summer car with the occasional track day. I would enjoy seeing what you guys are using. Also, I have stock rims and am planning on keeping them. I like the 90's look.

I tell you in my QX4 I had some older tires that sound much like yours. I was driving on the interstate about 75 and had a blowout that did some pretty bad damage. I'd be careful.

good call. I am not driving it at all until I get new tires. Its not my daily so I am staying off the roads. The next time I drive it it will be to the tire store :)

Actually the cheapest [not in the pejorative sense] investment you can make on your vehicle is a properly speed rated set of tires! Especially if you insist on "occasional track days] so don't just opt for the cheapest set of tirer that you find! Fit your planned use with the tires ratings !

Wow, the 245/45/16 is wayyy more accessible than a few years ago now. When I was buying, Fuzion was the only brand I could buy.

I wont look at anything less than v rated (because all the cars are capable of more than 130mph) and only run Michelin, Continental and Yokohama for my and my wife's cars. The truck gets Falken AT3Ws because of price point, I have never had good luck with Falkens on my cars and don't plan on returning to them any time soon. All that said I'm in Balmy Houston where subzero temps are a concern 1 week out of 5 years and most of the roads are pretty decent.
